I am thinking of buying an S14... but I want an S15 front end conversion, including engine. J's Garage told me that they will sell me fenders 300USD, hood 500USD, head lights 400USD (HID 1200USD), Impul front bumper 860USD, and S14 or S15 engine for ruffly 2500USD. Do you think this is a good deal? It will all come out to about 4500USD, and shipping is 900USD, which will come to a grand total of about 5500USD. Good deal? Has anyone dealt with J's Garage... how were they? Sorry for the long question, but I a newbie !
Oh yea if anyone knows a better deal post... Thanx

I think that it is a good deal too... mostly since he said a s14 or s15 engine for 2,500 which is relativly cheap!

is that a complete engine or just the engine itself ??

Thats a good deal...damn I wonder how you got this. But is the engine just that or do you get a front clip?

It is the whole front clip, not only the engine... the tranny, ecu, harness, and some others.... I found the guy through one of my friends. He recommended it.... but I was wondering if anyone else had ever been a customer...

With the engine thats great, J's Garage is pretty cheap. They sell cars, and can pretty much get any car from Japan and import it here, e-mail them for more info about importing, but they sell cars cheap, the only annoying part is registering it, you have to registe as a race car and all, but seems good. Since you just want the front half of the car and won't be driving it, it is real easy for them to get. I should talk to them about getting a 180SX front clip (some taillights would be nice too).
I would like to thank you for giving me that idea, now to see if they can produce.
Here is the link to it (http://www.j-garage.com/index.html)

J's Garage sell imported cars. They are a pretty good company. I think that is a pretty good deal for a S15 front clip with the body panels. Good luck with that.

I was also wondering, what would be a nice tail light conversion for an s14. Thanks

Don't you need some kind of mounting/support piece to go with the s15 conversion too, not just hood, bumper, lights, fenders? Correct me if im wrong please I am asking this because I recall Boostfactor telling my friend about this piece that is required.

iirc u need a new raditor support frame.. that way ur front bumper and lights have soemthign to be mounting on.. as for the fenders and hood. i beleive it has to be special so the s14 to s15 swap..
don't hold me to this

I did some research, and found that this is what it is called by one company that imports JDM parts.
:: JDM RADIATOR SUPPORT ASSEMBLY NISSAN S15 ::
Those are some real nice prices, but don't forget that you need that piece to complete the conversion. I think the price on the website was 375USD, but don't hold me to that.

since we are on the topic of J's Garage ... would any of you guys buy from them? How hard do you think the process would be for shipping, using the car as a daily driver, etc?
I live in South Carolina and we dont really have serious car test, for like emissions ...

I was reading places, and it said that Cali is the hard place for emission tests... I am not tooo sure about S.C., but I know that if you have "connections" it will be easier.

Cool ... i know there has not been an emission test in South Carolina for as long as i can remember (Like atleast 4 yrs.)
I just don't know what exactly I would have to go through besides worrying about emissions. Trying to figure out how i would get insurance on the car. Do you know if there is much difference to our cars here?

Mechanically, I am pretty sure that they are all the same. Insurance depends on the car, your age, your driving record and several other points. But I doubt that insurance would be a great problem, if you are able to pass emissions.
