I for one like them. I have them on my racecar 240, and they really help the car stick in corners. However, like any other coilover setup, they're not the best for street use. You'll feel every crack on the road with them for sure. When it comes to performance though, they're definitely a good choice to go with. They're cheaper than most other branded coilovers, and are upto par if not better than the competition.

if i soften up the damping setting it should ride smoother?

yes and no
the ride won't be as harsh, but it tends to become bouncy instead; which is natural since the shock is meant to stop spring oscillation.

omg don't even begin to try and drive a set of megan race coilovers on the street. they're under damped for their spring rates and there's nothing "streetable" about 12/10 springs on a 240. your car will skip over the pavement especially in the rain. There's nothing really streetable about their "street" 8/6 coilover but that's just personal opinion. 32 levels of no adjustment. bouncy = underdamped

I've driven two different s13 on the street with Megan tracks. I have to say I loved both of them, Felt just like driving a go kart.

12/10 rates will be horrible on the street. Way too much spring, will overpower any street tire you throw at it. I have 8/6 w/ Azenis RT615s, I feel this is where it's at for a dual purpose set up. Even the 8/6 is a compromise on the street, bumpy roads will unsettle your car. Imagine what 12/10 would feel like. Do yourself a favor, get the Megan street if you're set on them and some tires to match, don't be like all the poor 240 chumps out there with stiffly sprung coilovers and Sam's Club tires jumping over bumps on the road thinking their car handles like a gokart. To repeat something that's been said ad nauseum, just because it feels stiffer doesn't mean it handles better.

You can have both just not in the MR tracks price range.
