What are you guys' favorite places to eat and dishes? Feel free to talk about the food, drinks, desserts, and service. I think for most of us, if a place is open late its a +

I eat at soooo many different places with my gf. I love to eat!

Nola's - Palo Alto
This place rocks! Nice setting excellent food. My favorite is the Southern Chicken. I think they server southern type food. Price is easy on the wallet. Last time I went there they gave us free dessert

Miyakes - Cupertino
There is one in Palo Alto also, but I usually go to the Cupertino location. Love everything here!! Japanese food that is cheap and has TONS of different types. I stick to the spicy shrimp tempura and spider rolls. Usually with a plate of Katsu/Chicken teriyaki. The best bang for buck Japanese place...EVER!

Hana Sushi - Santa Clara - El Camino Real
This is a small sushi joint next to Juicy Burger. They have great food, but usually short handed. Food is cheap. Sushi is great and have a variety. This is where I go for a cheap quick fix. Wish they were open late nights.

Cherries Sushi - Santa Clara - El Camino Real
You want action??? This is the type of place you go on an anniversary or some special event. High class'ish and exspensive. Excellent food quality so I can justify spending $15 on ONE roll and another $12-15 on a dinner plate. This place is awsome for that "special" event.

These are just a few that came to mind. I was so bored today, this is what I came up with. I should be a food Connoisseur. I have seriously been to sooo many place around the bay area. This is because I have a GF that I take out, I work in Fremont, I have friends all over this area!

Uhh.
This is gonna turn into an all japanese sushi house thread :P

Anyways.
-PPQ on Irving and 19th
Good ass PHO place, try the curry pho or satay beef.

-Sushi House in ALameda or something
Hella good, they got some good ass baked rolls.

-Skyline Sushi
On Skyline Ave, takes fucking forever to get your food and to get seated, but it's so cheap.

-Kitaros on Geary
More cheap sushi. Get the philidalphia roll, my favorite with the cream cheese

-Fujis near UC Davis Downtown
Like $11.95 all you can eat sushi, and it's quality stuff too, for sure you'll get your moneys worth.

-Fil-Am in Daly City. Filipino food
Hella good and cheap, get their chicken sticks, or porn sticks with rice and some kare kare. mmmmmmmm

-Little Henrys on Balboa
Used to go there all the time, not really anymore, their chicken parmigian is hella good.

-Bravos on Mission
Pretty good and got cheap specials, open pretty late.

-El Burrito on Taraval
Their expresso burritos are hella good, with the sauce on it, I usually get the boiled chicken expresso burrito.

-La Playa Burrito lower Noriega
Mmmm, more burrito, quesidilla is hella good too

-Ocean Taqueria on Ocean Ave near 24 Fitness
More burrito.

Some more expensive places like, downtown.
-Il Fornaio like near the pier.
Some good italian food, probably about $15-$20 a person
-Ana Mandara near the pier as well
Asian fusion type of food. Good place for anniversary or whatever, it's nice inside.
-House of Prime Rib on Van Ness
Mmmmm, fucking best prime rib ever, I got the King Henry the 13th or whatever. I heard you can ask for seconds.
-Ruth Chris Steakhouse
Havent been here yet, heard it's like, $40 to $70 a person!

Shit, time to go eat, haha,

Kaizen.

-San Tung chinese restaurant on Irving, try the wet fried chicken!!!!!

-Mikuni's in Sacramento, Hazel-ElkGrove-Midtown-Roseville

-Fujis near UC Davis Downtown

Have to disagree on that one. I went to school there and have been there about 12 times or so in 4 years. Quality got worse every year, and it used to be only $10.

Fish is smelly sometimes, indicating lack of freshness and/or quality. I'm pretty picky about the raw fish I eat though.

Slanted Door in the Ferry Building - vietnamese fusion. It's bank and full of yuppies, but I love it. The Shaking beef is divine. I think Bill n Hill ate there for Chelsea's birthday when he was the Pres.

San Tung - Wonderful food, but the wait can be excruciating. And every time I try to park down there I want to kill a prius driver. But it's worth it.

Ala Turca - Geary and Polk. Right in the heart of the 'loin. I like it because no girl has ever had turkish, it's cheap, you can sit outside and watch the loin riff raff or you can sit inside and watch turkish mtv off the sat dish. The place is known for their dessert, too. 10 bucks is the expensive dish.

Kitaro/Kiki - Basically the same restaurant. I like them both when I'm doing the payday crawl. There are three sushi restaurants within 20 feet of each other on that block (?).

Gordo's. The first burrito I ever had was from there in 1984. It's not the best on earth, but I love it.

Good Luck Dim Sum on 8th n Clement. I like it the best of that area and it's cheap.

PPQ 25th n Clement - 50 bucks for crab and fixins for two. Yum.

Burgermeister - there's one on Columbus and one on Church across from the 'stro Safeway. I think there's another one somewhere. Bigass burgers that taste better way than Barney's and without the shoddy Barney's service.

Pancho Villa/El Toro in the mission. Fire exstinguisher sized burritos. I get them "mojado," smothered in red sauce.

Aziza on 22nd and Geary - Moroccanish fusion. A little pricey though. Service is tip top, your glass never gets past half full and the waiters know their stuff. They have stuff like rosewater and other nifty flavor type stuff, if you are into that.

La Vie also on 22nd and Geary - Vietnamese goodness. Their lemongrass grill is good and they bring out the sterno cooker thing to cook it at your table.

Han il kwan on 19th and Balboa. I like it a little better than Brothers on 6th n Geary. Too expensive to eat at those places often. And the bbq pit always makes me sweat. The only cup I don't eat from is the dried fish.

Tommy's Mexican 23rd and Geary. My uncle went to the school across the street with the owner's son, so we get rockstar treatment when we go with him. Largest collection of 100 agave tequila outside Mexico I've been told. They're known for the booze, but the food is good too. Only thing is: no reservations and they won't seat you until everyone is there.

House of Prime rib Van Ness and Something. The only thing I don't like is the Yorkshire pudding. And that's because I found out what it really is. Yes, you can ask for seconds.

Pasha on Broadway and Polk - belly dancing is cool. "It's good to be the king." But it's prix fixe, which kinda sucks. The interior is like being in a sultan's tent. And they give one person in your party a fez.

Tommy's Joynt on Geary and Van Ness. A hofbrau of randomness. Metallica brought Jason Newstead there the day they hired him and made him eat random crap as hazing. Or something like that. But I alway see people I know there and they are always on drugs or at the very least wastoid drunk.

Celia's on foursix and Judah. They have them all over, but that's the one I like.

Sonic. Yeah, I bet it's everyday for some people, but I only get to go there once in a while because the nearest ones are in Tracy and Woodland. Basically if I'm going down 5 to Vegas/LA, so I have this Pavlovian thing with Sonic.

I bet all the Davis places I liked are closed by now. Hopefully Sophia's is still there. I know China House closed. There was also this philly cheesesteak place by the co-op. Any DC besides Quarto. That place sucks. Toyko with the Mongolian BBQ. That guy never smiled. Ever. There was this crepe place next to Baskin Robbins downtown that had the best french onion soup. I hope Taqueria Guadalajara still there. I always liked La Esperanza, too. I'd go there before getting hammered at 7 for 1 drinks on Fridays. And before country night.

MOMOYAMA's Sushi on Mt Diablo Blvd in Concord. Best sushi I've ever had, and the prices are cheap! On average around $8-10 a roll, comes with miso soup and a sald.

Pho Hoa Phat on Concord Blvd, on Concord, near the Pepboys. Good 'ol Cheap Pho.

Fluffy Donut in Davis, CA right next to Rite Aid... They have awesome egg salad sandwichs and donuts are baked fresh daily.

What about Pho King?
HAHAHAHAHA

But yes, Gordo's is the shit, and they're open 24 hours. Plus their supreme fries, mmmm, fuck that shit is so good.

Well, I only started going to Fuji's like, last year because my girlfriend goes to Davis, and I'm sure to go Fujis everytime I goto Davis. Well, the shit there is still a fucking deal, and it's pretty fresh compared to some of the SF places.

+1 For San Tung. I live 4 blocks away, free parking for me, ahahahaha suckas. I'll rent out parking spots to Zilvia members eating there for a small fee.

Also:

All You Knead on Haight near Masonic. Best breakfast food in the city. They make their own wheat grain bread, its bomb.

Yum Yum Fish. Hella expensive, but fresh fish. It's actually a fish market first, sushi place second.

I used to love King of Thai chain, but the quality has gone downhill quickstyle.
Chipotle is still my favorite burrito, but there isn't one in the Sunset.

Cheung Hing on Noriega btw 29 and 30th ave has the best chinese BBQ.

Is this the place right by the skate spot on the embarcadero?

Some of my favorite places when i lived in SF were north beach pizza at fishermans warf.

The curry at "Over the Bridge" in jtown is really good and they have japanese comics to read while you eat.

I visit the bay area a lot and I LOVE THE FOOD! All i do is eat and kick it with friends.

I love Crepevine on Irving. They're breakfast crepes and dessert crepes are so good.

Fat Wongs in Milpitas has damn good crock pot stuff and good jook. I always hit this place up with my friends.

Yellow Submarine - Sandwiches were pretty damn good and filling.

All of the random Dim sum to go places are dope too.

Yea Fuji's in Davis has gotten worse every year. I haven't been there for 2 years now. The first time I went, I ate 23 plates and my two other friends ate ~22 plates each. I will never do that again.

San Tung is hella good. I go with my family all the time. They have fresh hand made noodles and dumplings etc. The old man waiter is funny.

The pink noodle house in the Tenderloin. I don't remember the name but it is on Eddy or something? It is close to the new Lee's Sandwhich that just opened. The most satisfying bowl of noodles you will ever eat. Maybe somebody else that knows what I am talking about can chime in on the exact location.

Turtle Tower on Geary or same block as ^^ that place. Very Good Chicken Noodle Soup.

D&A on clement in S.F- don't go there if you are afraid of dirty eating environments, Chinese people, or paying less than 5 bucks for lots of food. Open Late which is why most people go.

I would have to say Kazoo's in J-town san jose, is a rip off! It is so exspensive there and there is no room in that place. The food is OK, but I would go to a dozen other places before going there. I went there once and was mad cause it was so $$ for mediocre food.

Sonoma Chicken Coop - Downtown SJ
Best bang for buck! Love this place, nothing over $12! Good portions, excellent food. My favorite is the Chicken Carbonara. Everything comes with a slice of house pizza. Nice and clean, good select of food. I believe this is the same owner as Peggy Sues, across the street.

Iguana's - Downtown SJ
No one believes me this place is better than La Vics. This place is #1 to me. Love their burritos and nachos. Nachos are FUCKING AWSOME! They have orange sauce that has more taste and is spicier!. I recommend the Super Carne Asada Nachos or the Super Carne Asada Burrito, or Both at the same time!!#!$#% Im a La Vics hater

Minato in jtown isn't so bad, kind of pricey (not bad if you work/worked there tho :D)

La Victorias in downtown SJ, THE ORANGE SAUCE!

Chow chi off capitol avenue and hostetter, cheap food and the broccoli beef is bomb.

Taqueria las vegas in milpitas by the police station... cheap and goood.

Blowfish - kinda pricey sushi is cool, entree's are very fusion (not mytype) but I get a discount all the time so thats kinda cheating :D

Kaygetsu - menlo park about 10min from stanford mall, kaiseki food, super expensive so bring a hot chick that will put out after she knows how much u spent on dinner... Haven't eaten there yet but a good friend is a chef out there.

hawaiian food? hukilau in jtown SJ or palo alto ain't bad, I kind of like em better than L&L for most stuffs.

L&L awesome chicken katsu.

Aloha kitchen on east side SJ off capitol Expressway (watch out for shady cops hiding on the turn offs if u have a modified exhaust). The owner is cool guy used to mod up cars, chop him up he hooks it up pretty good too.

Krung thai right behind valley fair, try the angel wings, they are some good shiet.

Ryowa ramen in mountain view (off castro and some side street along the strip) good shit, affordable and decently sized portions.

Ringer Hut, on saratoga. The lunch specials are cheap as hell and aren't too bad tasting.

CLover bakery next to mitsuwa (saratoga and moorpark). If you enjoyed yakitate japan you'll like clover, try the UFO.

Aki's bakery (ermm somewhere along the sideskirts of SJ) they make some bomb ass desserts.

Of course who could miss king eggroll on king/lundy and berryessa, You know that shiet rocks.

Just a few places i've been, hope it's helpful.

DAmn, I'm getting hungry reading this now! Oki doki, more South Bay stuff so deal with it!

HALU RAMEN - off of Saratoga between Stevens Creek and Kieley: Really good ramen and be sure to try the Saboro Rice.

El Rancho Liquors (there's actually a taqueria in there) -off of Vine close to Alma and Almaden Road: the best damn quesidilla you can get. Real Mexican Queso and get the pastor one if you eat pork. This place rawks!!! Total ghetto looking hole in the wall but food is way tastey!

Super Taqueria - a few around the South Bay : get the super tacos. Sooo good. Burritos come loaded w/ too much beans so I prefer the tacos since they have more flavor and don't make you overly full.

Yuki Sushi - off of Pruneridge: pretty good prices for some fresh sushi and I can get katsu curry there too!

Stacks- Campbell Ave: great spot for breakfast and kick ass blueberry pancakes.

Sonoma Chicken Coop - Campbell Ave: good place with cheap food and big portions. On the weekends you can go for breakfast with no waiting if Stacks is too crowded across the street. Tipping optional too!

Jersey's Cheese Steaks - Winchester Blvd: big 'ole meaty cheesesteaks with really good soft bread. They don't over cook their meat either like the overrated Amato's on Saratoga.

Cosentino's Market- Bascom Ave: best Italian grocery store in the area. Get a roastbeef sandwhich there on o sweet french roll. The slice it all right there on the spot and super delish!

just fyi: I have relatives from not so far back that were nimibian tribesman. they happen to have fought lions just to become warriors. I dont know what you know about lions but they aren't like your average cat. I bet you would absolutely shit yourself if you ever saw a real life lion.. especially if you were only holding a sharpened stick and you were naked. come talk to me when some of your family members have gone on the zambutu bibjano; aka the trial of life. until you have done half the shit that they have maybe you shouldnt even talk to me like this. I know you think you're hard and shit but guess what pal.. u arent'. now go grow some namibian genes and we'll talk about this shit for real
