Well im gana be honest I dont know shit about cars. I bought my first car like 3 years ago and starting moding it trying not to rice it out too bad and last year I got a real car my SR'd 240. Well I was learning how to "drift" with no lsd and messed up the steering and like an ass sold my FMIC and traded for an SMIC and ever since then its been idleing rough/dieing. Just today with my dad friend helping me we got the steering all done and the car started.

EDIT: The guy I sold my FMIC to put on his SMIC on my car and shit went all over the place that wasnt there before so im like woah wtf is going on here

It idled ok for a while and then did all sorts of crazy shit. It was moving from about 800 to about 200 and almost dieing every time then it started making this noise from out of nowhere that ive never heard before. THEN when I tried to rev it, it stops at about 2500 rpm and wont let it go higher. My dads friend knows alot about cars in general but has never touched a 240 so were kinda learning as we go and all I know is how certain stuff works like the basics of turbo and air and gas ect. Anyway since ive never known what anything does or is and neither does he im here to ask questions that seem dumb to you but rocket science to me.

First off is there any way to adjust the amount of air going into the throttle body or whatever that thing is? because when we took a few hoses off the thing it idled higher and much better. Like some kind of idle adjustment valve or screw?

The car came with a upgraded fuel pump and on 2 occasions I was told to get an adjustable FPR. Well we took a hose off the stock fpr and it increased the idle to a drivable state but we dont know anything about how much air if any is being forced into the thing from the turbo piping so we took it off and it was not that much different.

So now I dont know what to do next and I took a picture of this thing I have no idea what it does but it has a little handle or something and one of the vac lines from the turbo (or bov) is going into it.

#1 Have no idea what that is #2 We took that hose off to increase idle

I have NO IDEA what that plug does but he was talking about it

he was saying something about that too and we couldnt figure out what it was or what it does but its related to my problem???¿¿¿

Thats my car when im trying to press the gas I had it at a steady 40-50% the whole time and it would just stop and go crazy and I think I heard it backfire??? Its never done anything like that at all

This is me trying to pull the little rubber thing off to make it idle better but it started making this little noise that I cant find but it sounds like it coming from somewhere in the motor.

Yea im so confused and im not knowledgeable on cars either which makes me the worst person ever to be trying this but if anyone could help with any positive feedback I would greatly appreciate it thx everyone and sorry for such a long post haha

Its been almost a year since ive drove my car and if you look on my youtube you could see a vid of it when I first ripped off the bumper on the curb of death its so clean and I dont intend to rice it out or drive like an idiot but rather show those crazy ricers at my school what a real car is...(from a guy who doesnt know shit haha)

1 and 2 are vacuum lines. They should stay plugged in. Second pictures is TPS sensor and last one is stock wastegate

#1 vacuum line- keep it plugged or use it as a vacuum source.
#2 vacuum line- reconnect it to your fpr.
#3 tps sensor- aka throttle postion sensor. (there's a way to check if it's good) try searching tps sensor in tech.
#4 actuator- kinda like a boost controller.

as far as bad idle and not revving past 2500 rpm, its always/usually the maf (what your intake filter goes to) make sure its connected properly. hope this helps.

dammit you beat me to it !!!

your idleing problem could also be a vaccuum leak. should check that smic to see if there are no cracks.

Is there any way to adjust the amount of air that my car gets or some kind of idle adjustment thing?

yes. there is an adjustment screw (plastic ???)between the intake runners 2 and 3 i think. and to kinda play with idle, there is a little adjustment screw where the throttle cable connects to. its on the bottom. its like a 6mm nut or sumtin. sorry no sr to take a pic of what im talking about.

p.s. search for IACV

yes there's a grey plastic screw type dohicky that if you use a phillips head you're probably gonna strip it so use a big long flat head. look inbetween the runners on the intake manifold for cyilnder 2 and 3 (off memory could be 3 and 4) but anywho that grey plastic phillips head looking screw, if you loosen it it will raise the idle, if you tighten it it will lower your idle, do not screw it too far either direction, especially loosen lol or you'll be posting more stuff like this lol. i don't think that's your problem at all, i agree with the guys up there that said number 1 check your mass air flow sensor and make sure when you were messing with your p/s stuff you didn't unplug your maf or damage the wires in any way. they also said perhaps your smic is cracked, raise the idle if you have to to test this, but spray some carb and choke clean on the smic and if where you're spraying suddenly the idle goes up, then that's your vacuum/boost leak.

ok cool ill try that tomorrow. I had another question the upgraded fuel pump is pumping alot of fuel or pressure idk but it was around 40 and when I took off the hose to raise idle a little it went to about 45. Should I worry?

Oh and I got a new maf like a month or 2 before I messed up the car well not new but my cars power was next to nill and the new-ish maf fixed all that so I dont think its my maf but ill check it out and see what I could find

just check the connection. usually its not plugged in properly causing your motor to stumble and not want to rev past 2500 rpm.

Is there any reason the car wouldnt rev up high besides the maf? because adjusting different vac lines it determines if the car revs higher or lower? I hope its not the maf cause I cant afford a new one right now haha

the maf's not gonna make the car idle high, it will make the car not rev passed 3,000 rpm. the vacuum leak will make the car rev high ooOOOo BUKAKE!! @@

Oh crap well yesterday I was trying to mess around with it and the car was only reving to about 2-3k and after idling for a couple minutes I turned it off and white smoke starting coming from the heatsheild right above the turbo... and it smelled like something was burning. oh crap =/

exhaust leak maybe?

Is your ECU tuned to run the bigger Maf? If not, I suggest you replace it back to stock for now. If the car idles high or surges, it is probably a vacuum leak. Download a FSM and look for the vacuum diagram.
