I've done a new vlave cover and oil pan gasket and it still leaks. The oil filter is fine too. Its hard to tell where it is leaking because my entire engine is covered with oil and dirt. It seems to be dripping the most under the tb.

check your front main seal. might as well change it anyway. very cheap, just a pain in the ass to get to.

check out the oil pressure sending unit. it screws in right by the oil filter

yep the oem pressure sensor tends to blow oil out the back when it gets old, especially if you've overfilled the oil.

did you do the oil pan gasket properlly? those things are VERY fussy. When I did my ka-t it took me 3 times to get it right.

dont use the gasket for the pan, just scrape w/a razor nice and clean, and use the Nissan Grey if possible, there is also a mazda Black RTV in a can that works really well, one of their distributors is MAZDATRIX.

Are there problems with the gasket? Usually, you'd think the gasket + rtv is safest.

felpro doesn't make a gasket, it's silicon. permatex gray or black will work, i prefer gray, you don't want to use red or anything besides gray or black becuase the fumes etc are not o2 sensor safe...OOOOOoooOOOo BUKAKE!!

the gasket is easy to get out of place if you are doing it w/engine in the car.

A clean metal on metal surface and HIGH quality (cant stress this enough) RTV is the best.

just do what I did. Drop the crossmember because it makes it so much easier to get the pan on, clean both the pan and where it mounts to the motor then use the Nissan grey liquid gasket stuff and mount up the pan. There is a tightening sequence for the oil pan so it properlly seals. SEARCH or check fsm

i dont understand why people are afraid to clean their motors. how about degreasing the engine??? its $7 for engine degreaser, if not less...clean it, then see where the leak is coming from. if thats not enough, buy a UV engine dye kit... why waste time and money replacing random gaskets and seals? track the mofo down.

Thanks guys. I was afraid of cleaning the engine because I didn't want the cleaner to eat through any wires. Can I spray degreaser on it and rinse off engine with hose? What about alternator.

cover up sensitive electrical components before you spray it.

what about alternator.

I suggest disconnect battery, wrap alternator with plastic bag (or two) and enclose with rubber band or similar....apply degreaser following recommendations then rinse away keeping water out of the intake plumbing. Let all belts dry or apply low heat to aid before running engine again.

to be honest, when i clean my engine bay, it looks like a club just had "bubbles night".. i soak everything but the mafs, never had a problem just soaking everything.. just avoided blasting the alternator and mafs with degreaser and water. uv engine dye will make your job of finding the leak easy. black light time.

I have more problems now. I think my hg is done. Heres my symptoms. Whitish sediment in radiator, radiator is clogged so I blew top hose. turned heat on and it wasn't hot so I replaced thermostat and its fine but radiator still clogged and it over heats quick. Compression test wouldn't tell if hg is done and I know about die and a thing you put about radiator inlet w/ cap off and it recognizes carbon monoxide and other exhaust gases. What would be best way to tell so? (all in one day) I thing what happened is sediment clogged radiator, radiator couldn't circulate=overheat top hose blew from pressure then hg went out. Thermostat was fine before and it looked fine when I pulled it out but replaced it anyway. So whats best way/cheapest possible but efficient to test hg?
