I don't think this is the right section for this topic. Might want to have the mods move it to chat.

dude are wheels not a part of the technical aspect of your car now? i guess im out of the loop

I'd do a 5mm difference between the front and back wheels but definitely 20 at the most

they're still weak fitment...

well as for spacers, i'll most likely run a little more out back or w/e... so its decent flush and there light so why not

'cuz you'll need huge spacers and your wheel bearings will cry like a little girl who just dropped her ice cream cone.

20mm wont do much for wheel bearings... i've seen alot worse in the 240 world w/o problems... i just dont have the money to buy 1200$ set of wheels and i dont want to because i have better things to spend that on

why not just get some $500 MB's or $800 FN's that actually fit?

20 til 3
04-20-2007, 03:15 PM
because that is a couple hundred more than the evo wheels... and alot heavier and then i dont look like every other 240sx on the road

FN's probably weigh less. How you use some wheels that were actually meant for RWD? 300zx TT wheels would look WAY better

yea. you drop the label of looking like every other 240 on the road. you pick up cheap bastard put evo rims on his 240. how much are new studs, hubcentric spacers, and lugs going to cost you??? you just might break even buying something else dude.. look into sportmax wheels at edgeracing.com . go to pandagarage.com they have some really nice wheels there too

aint shit going to happen to your wheel bearings, ever. run 100mm spacers i dont care. it is NOT going to fuck up your wheel bearings. i hate when people say that.

regardless, skip on thoes wheels unless theyre like 200 bucks

hubcentric spacers are for nerds. a set of bolt on 1 inch spacers costs 100 dollars. why would you need to buy new lugs.

(i would get thicker than an inch though thoes are gonna need a lot of spacer to not look like crap, like 40mm)

Seriously, you'd rather rock some doo doo sized wheels because they are "a couple hundred less" then a wheel that will actually fit right on your car? Dont get me wrong, theres nothing wrong with being original...but theres something wrong with your choice in wheels.

I dont know if you've ever priced out how much Evo 8 wheels cost from the factory. But shit is not cheap like you think it is. Shit, Infinity dealers want almost 900 PER WHEEL for their rays engineering G35 wheels.

man dont bust out that stupid argument. oem s14 alloys are like 450 from the dealer. who cares, totally irrelevant.

OP shouldnt buy sportmax or evo wheels because they are both pretty crappy. but i left as much advice as i could. peace out

well these wheels are that cheap, and your right about buyin 1" spacers, i'll do that... as for sportmax? i've gotten that, and those are heavy and dime a dozen

and the evo wheels are 6 or 9 kg's from what i've found so 13-16lbs a piece and they look decent... plus there strong and dont flake(my old 5zigens and buddy's flaked paint) so fuck that

04-20-2007, 06:06 PM
EVO wheels should be 17x8 +30 (Enkei made ones) If you are going to spend the money to buy spacers in addition to the EVO wheels, might as well get a nice sized 5 Zigen or other cheap low offset wheel, Rotas, MB, whatever....

Ive seen worse.... I seen S14 guys rolling around with like 17x7 +45 offset, it looks horrible.

wont be sunk in... i'll have good spacers so they sit flush as i can get them

but... yeah i want them really bad now after seing those black ones

OptionZero
04-20-2007, 11:54 PM
to go from 17x8 +38 to "flush", you'd need like 35mm spacers at which point you should shoot yourself for not buying wheels that fit to begin with

instead of buying something lame and trying to patchwork it into something resembling "decent", why not take the time and do it right the first time, buy some wheels with proper sizing

whats wrong with me getting the wheels? there light, cheap and better than sportmax/fnr's plus like i posted before, i cant drive down the road and see 2 sets of them plus, if i fuck one up its not to hard to find one locally

i just wanted some pics and info on if anyone else has them... not people telling me to buy sportmax's and that there weak because they need spacers

thanks for the people that helped

OptionZero

who's told you to buy sport max? no one is that cruel here

The weight difference between an FN or the EVO wheel is negligible, and from your cheapness, it's quite obvious you aren't competing in any races anytime soon.

On top of that, you can buy an FN or MB motoring wheel in 17x9, an actual RWD size.

you wanted info, and you got it

cheapness is not an excuse to buy shit

i've owned 5zigens before and i wasnt impressed, my friend tried to order mb's... but there on backorder for who knows how long, takumi, mbmotoring, rbmot have nothing decent for a good price right now or this year yet, used wheels on ebay ... isnt anything and its hard to trust people nemore

look harder (smarter)
or
wait for something better

cheapness if not a reason to buy shit; impatience is not a reason either

tires.com has MB motoring for Christsake. My friend ordered some a week ago.

I think it would be a better idea to get the TSX types wheels anyway. They look loads better, EVO wheels are ugly. Or since you are mr smart buyer captain weight concious, why not get 3rd gen rx7 wheels? They are plentiful on ebay, weigh considerably less, and actually look better

cheap cheap cheap too! often going for around 200 a set

:eek3: Either you can't see 2 sets or you can get them easily and cheap??? which is it, because I see these Rims every day all day long? I would just say this, if you want cheap rims get old Crown Vic, Mustang, or 350Z wheels.

This current route you are saving maybe a hundred dollars but you are not getting ANY performance out of them. Get a cheap used set of something that fits better and get a better stance with more rubber under your ass.

what about the argument of that if you own an evo AND a 240sx and already have multiple sets of wheels for the evo?

nothing beats the ole school 5 spoke uber lip work equips, or the vsssssssssxxxxxxxxxxx's

i'm biased though. my car won't look good unless it's fast first. and even if it's fast...it still might stay looking bland. traction sux with low profile tires..... bah, i'll stick to powertrain threads, gl with your rim decision...

those are sick. a 25mm spacer would make them look good imo

**clears brembo gran turismos without spacers too! ;)
