I'm just basically f'in around in my spare time. Get bored, draw a new wheel. Not ment to mock any specific wheel, just a good look in my opinion.

I'm going to start doing a "Wheel of the Day." Everytime I get bored, throw something together and see what you guys think
Not bad, but could use quite a bit of work yet.
The concave face with lip is usually a nice idea.
It's also simple, which is good.
It does have issues that need to be resolved however.
Mainly the fact that wheel will fit hardly anything.
Not because of the size, but because of the hub pad. You have a totally flat pad which will not clear any brakes except for maybe some drums or really recessed calipers.
Add some thickness to the back of the hub pad to remedy this. This will also lower the offset, so you may have to have less lip for it to work correctly.
Another problem is how close two of your lug holes are to the windows. If these wheels were cast, you'd be worrying about stress fractures in these locations, which wouldn't exactly be safe.
The last two issues are merely aesthetic.
The first is that it simply looks like wheels that are already on the market, only with an origami form vocabulary. It looks way too similar to a Gull flame or GL 57. Try something fresh and exciting, re-invent the wheel.
The second is the origami form vocabulary.
Try adding some surface tension to surfaces and radii to edges. You'll be surprised at how much these little details improve the look of the wheel. Right now it's kind of flat, and flat has no visual interest.
Overall, nice first attempt!
I can't wait to see where you end up taking your design direction.
Keep us updated.
edit: The extra bevel on the edge of the lip is really nice.

im workin in ProE now at school, if u can get ahold of a copy of it do it, cause it is literally the shit, the things u can do are unbelieveable.

I'm glad my critique didn't discourage you.
I'm the head of design at a major american wheel manufacturer, so this is what I do every day.
It's a good start.
Here's a wheel I did a year ago that's similar to what you did. Maybe it will give you some inspiration.

Nice drawing with Autodesk Inventor 11. I use Solid Works and it's much harder to navigate, but then again I was never too good using programs like that anyways. Those rims would look sweet as my rear set though.

S14unimog, wikid skills. Is that "Solid Works"?
Not bad. ;)
Try making the lug area concave. It may be closer to the look you're going for.

yuri those wheels are sick, did they ever go into productions, i would certainly be inline for a set!
MHT Chicane.
Only one set was ever built.
Ironically, they never ended up on a car either. They're just sitting in storage.
I'll commandeer them when I get 5-lug.
Even thought there's been a lot of interest in them, they never made production. Kinda like all the cool stuff in Batman Begins.
It was thought that there wouldn't be any market for them.:hahano:

I use Solidworks 2006......I design playgrounds
I find Solidworks and inventor both have there good sides, each is differnt and good in their own way.
Nice job on the wheels btw
I'll post some of mine up when i get a chance to finish them(even roughly)

I have a little experience with Solidworks and it seemed great, and very similiar to Inventor. I will post a couple of my sprayer designes tomorrow when I get back into work, as well as the "Wheel of the Day!"

Try something fresh and exciting, re-invent the wheel..
I SAY keep the center design and the concavity, but make the spokes flare out slightly at the barrel like the fabulous expand, kinda like a battle axe, also, use the same beveled edges or similar, and make sure the face is concave like the te, not convex like the expand. and keep it 7 spoke ....LETS SEE IT
here is an expand

^Why don't you get to work and stop trying to flex your nerdy skills on a car forum? How's that sound?
PS, you do realize if I see your car parked again I'm ripping the plate off. You got lucky at Kroger yesterday! Haha.
Cool stuff, man. Make me a bash shield for the SR oilpan!

nice, i like that one quite a bit. the bevel on the face seems a little off though, maybe if you moved the corner in a little so there is a larger flat area. just some random thoughts, feel free to ignore me.
did you change the way the spokes attached to the face? i liked that extra pad on the last drawing.
