View Full Version : cobra MAS?
I know I read something somewhere about putting a mustang cobra Mass Airflow Sensor in a 240. Anybody try this? What can be the possible benefit unless its bigger(i don't know if it is)
Any reply would be great.
thanks

When you build a totally nuts, balls-out 240 engine (sorry I forgot whether it is KA or SR) The stock MAF ends up being the most restrictive unit the whole system, and the cobras is for a V-8, so I'm aassuming it is drastically larger. That is the extent of the knowledge I have abou the Cobra MAF.
If you heard about the cobra MAF in the thread about the KA MAF always breaking, and weather or not it was true, it was me that said it. Let me know. I am curious.

it's not drastically larger, but it's air flow range is more than twice that of the stock MAFS.

To run one, you have to have some kind of electronics to tell the ECU you are feeding more air. Really, it's only useful if you have a a turbo and an S-AFC (which allows settings for it).

If you plan on getting your ecu tuned then purchace the cobra maf then send your ecu to JWT and they will program it into the ecu while doing everything else
