Hey Im new to the site and I have a few questions about the people thats building my engine.
Have any of you delt with JGY Customs in Virgina. The build is a BC2.35 stroker 9.0 comp with BC 272 cams and a cometic head gasket.
The pistons are lateraly gas ported because I planned on running a 200 wet direct port kit. Iam going to be running a Peakboost manifold with there custom Garrett TO4R(the one with the 82 hot side). Also AEM EMS and chopped and modified greddy intake maifold to except q45 TB.
I am shooting for the 900+.
Any comments or suggestions would help and be apreciated

what are you doing to reinforce the bottom end of the block? the main towers will begin to twist and move at between 550-600

that will be the most power I have ever seen out of an ESAR. GL with the build and welcome to the site. Keep us all updated as the motor build-up carries on.

so far from my personal experience with them and many readings over the internet on many forums, their engine building skills are lacking and tend to yeild bad results. good luck with the build, seems like you are shooting for the stars with a build for rediculous power that will break many transmissions and axlesand never makign it to the ground.

I have personally dealt with JGY. Several times.
Here's my story.
When I was sourcing an RB25 transmission for my RB26 swap into my S13. I called them up, and asked if they had one. They did, and said they would sell it to me for 400 bucks. Astonished. I said, Wow, Ok! I'll let you know within a couple days. Couple days later I called them back and they said they could no longer sell me the transmission for 400, and that it was now 900. So I did a "Whiskey Tango Foxtrot" but said, "Need a week or two to scrounge up the extra cash." Week or two pass, call em back up, they said the transmission had now gone up to 1300. So I told them to stick it in their ear.
That was approximately a year before this next story happened, and this was very recent (Last month). I got home from Iraq in mid-December of 06. Called JGY and got my car down there (Why I'm taking my car there is another story in its own right) but nevertheless... Took the car there in late December, Early January to get wired, an oil cooler installed, oil filter relocation kit, some gauge-work, a new steering wheel, and a quick inspection to make sure all the nuts and bolts were tight since the last shop did a shitty job. I told them I wanted the car back in a reasonable amount of time, 3-4 weeks. They said OK (Meaning to me... they agreed to the 3-4 week due date.) Remember, that was first of the year. Late March -- There had been NOTHING -- Not a single thing installed, or even touched under the hood from January, to March. Nate, the dude that I dealt with, and albeit a REALLY nice guy.. Told me things over the phone to appease me, and generally pretty much blew me off a number of times. To which I played absolutely cool with, considering they had my $15,000 car. Granted. They ordered all the parts I needed, but hadn't touched a single damn thing in 3 months. The whole time they stated that there was an Infiniti G20 or ... something that kept giving Jason (owner of JGY and their ONLY -- I repeat ONLY -- mechanic) a hard time. When I went to pick my car up, said Infiniti was nowhere in sight, and when I walked into the shop, Jason was looking over an engine on an engine stand. Its been a while, so I don't remember what kind, but it didn't look like an Infiniti motor.
All in all. I'll never go back to them. Plus I have heard personal first-hand accounts from friends that they had been wronged by JGY in various ways aswell. So my opinion is steer very clear from them. And chat up Eric from "Lowlife Kustomz." From my experience, a very knowledgable man, with several mechanics and even though his shop doesn't look like much. He doesn't seem to be having a problem doing everything that JGY was supposed to do, and more for me.

JGY chomps it.
everything I've seen come out of a JGY box has been a pile of home depot fittings or some shit you could get off summit for cheaper.

go do a search on www.sr20forum.com
I would not want to spend that kind of money with JGY, run away.

Jason Garrett Young, or JGY was basically banned from our SR20forum.com for being dirty. a lot of people got crap parts and a lot of people never got parts for their money. so i say, go somewhere else.

If the shop owner likes you... maybe good,
If not, probably bad. They are very half assed, that is a known fact

Thanks for the help and I think you all would be happy to know I got my motor back from them today. It cost me some money because they had already put the hks sleeves in and I had to pay a crapload of RESTOCKING FEES but I think it will be better in the long run but now who to send it to. I still have the stroker kit in the box so now I just need the sleeves bored and the engine assembled. I am basicly desiding between mazworx, hybridynamics, and lowlife kustoms unless anybody else has some suggestions.

If you can find dan benson, you can write him a proposal and he may do your work, or find a shop that deals with him.
