I currently live in MA but am trying to go to school in california. I know cali has pretty strict car laws...especially from everything ive read about them here...wondering if i buy and register my car in MA and move there for school if i will be subject to emissions, ref tickets etc? Any one who knows about this please lmk

yeah you would still be subjected too Ca laws. If you are driving Ca roads an get pulled over an they pop your hood an you have a Sr or anyother mods an the cop gives you a ticket to go to the ref everything still applies.

ha yeah absolutely loved it when i was out there....lol cali seems like its great and horrible for cars at the same time. While i was out there i saw everything on the roads from ferraris to lambos mercedes SLR mclaren bentleys...shit.... everything (we dont see any of those out here), seems like there is a huge tuning scene, tons of shops, nice roads, everything that boston is lacking. Then i read about ppl getting car jacked or their cars broken into or stolen or getting screwed by the cops

Everything that happens in cali has a reason.

Cars get jacked because people who own the cars are idiots.

Broken into. Read above.

Harassed by cops. Same as above, but with known illegal items attached.

Don't be like that and you're fine.

Welcome to cali.

thats about the biggest load of crap i've heard in awhile. cars get jacked because low lifes find that they are going to rob people that work hard for their money and possessions because they don't have the skillset or intelligence to get a real job and earn what they desire. my 1995 honda accord rust bucket was stolen out of my driveway. what constitutes me acting like an idiot? because in your infinite wisdom, that caused it to get stolen. or was because some retard didn't want to go out there and make an honest living but would much rather chop my car up and sell it for parts?

There are always exceptions to the rule. Nice to know someone wanted your rust bucket.
Most of the time, if you own a, "hot" car. Then why in the hell would one throw tons of money into it only to fail by not purchasing something as simple as anti theft devices? Because most think it will never happen to them. That's why.

Car get broken into for the same reason as above. Tons of bling in a car and they leave it there. Remove your radio face plate and what not. Cover up your guages if you insist on leaving them to be seen. Keep money and all valuables out of sight. Maybe even tint your windows.

Cops harassing people? I couldn't give a flying fuck. People put SR's into their car and or drift/race/wangan/exhaust/visible mods/whatever the fuck they do. Then a cop pulls them over; doing his job. Then people get butt hurt calling cops pigs.

Get your facts straight, and open your eyes.

TRUE ! but there are dirty ones. i get harrased all the time but im used to it. but the best one was when i got pulled over by LAPD and the reason for pulling me over was "you only have a key in the ignition."

so yea its a hit or miss with cops. if you dont attract attention (you and your car) then youll be ok majority of the time.

one time i got pulled over. force to get my hood pop'd and started asking the dumbest questions. i had a ka24de and was asking me why i had a japanese engine. then pointed out that i had a front strut tower bar and i race. told him theres no turbo and the motor is stock, no exhaust or intake. and that the strut tower bar was for car handling not for speed. said ok you can go. if you have illegal shit then you'll get rolled out. if you have all this bling on your car, your bound to get jacked.

Haha that's funny. I have a stock engine... I got pulled over in City of Industry and the cop popped my hood and said,

"Well well well, where should I begin?"

And I'm prettymuch like... wtf... to hell if I know, there's nothing to begin with.

But yea to keep on topic, this reminds me of a similar situation. A co-worker of mine had registered his car in Alaska, and he has Alaska license. (he's from Alaska) The cops pulled him over here in socal and tried to give him a fixit ticket (he has a built KA-T) but they couldn't because ... think about it, they're going to be sending the fix-it ticket to the address of his driver's license... which is Alaska, and he'd have to go to court in Alaska where KA-T is prettymuch OK. In the end, they prettymuch harassed him for 1 hour, and then they let him go free, no ticket or anything.

P.S. be on the lookout for a stolen white S13 fastback with S15 front end. Car's probably long gone, but if anyone sees it, call RB Motoring.
