29.5 miles to the gallon, ~380 miles between fillups.
Check your air and fuel filters, spark plugs, and O2 sensor.

Wow, 29.5 mpg is really good.
My best was 28.6mpg a couple weeks ago and last night was 27.5mpg. I have no idea what I got the weekend at the track but at track touring in third gear at 40-55mph I could watch the needle drop over the half hour.
Basically it ends up being 100 miles per quarter tank so I usually fill up at a quarter tank left at 300 miles or so. Light comes on around 325-350miles.

Wow you guys get great mileage... I dunno what it is about the SF Bay Area (we get ripped off for gas prices, maybe we also get crummier gas too?)
My city average is only about 20 mpg (if I'm lucky) but when I drove down to the convention I got 32 mpg down to LA and back (if I did my math correctly). I was driving really fast as well... averaged 90 mph on the way down and 75 mph on the way back. I would check my usual things, but I honestly have no explanation for this... any ideas?

btw when i'm doing some street racing banging through gears, i get 6 mpg for the whole tank. i've done it about 4 tanks now, so i know it's not faulty math.
20mpg.. un-tuned stock '89 KA24E with a leaky injector seal, fist sized hole in the exhaust, and exhaust manifold held on with 4 of 8 bolts.. On a trip from San Jose to Napa, I saw 26mpg.

I got 28 mpg going from denver to pdx, about 75 mph the whole way... Than i was getting 15 froma bad 02 sensor, and american plugs ( in the whole time! Definately look at the plugs wgen you buy a car. Autolife plugs are shit! I got NGK V powers.

Are you sure they aren't autolite? If they are autolife, I really have to wonder how someone couldn't have a buck twentyfive per spark plug that they went with the "cheap" imitation brand.

My average at 29.5 may go down a bit, 'cause I moved in town and nolonger have the 80 mile a day commute. ftr, my best mileage that I tracked was about 31 mpg :-) Car runs on 87 octane Chevron, and i've only seen my fuel light twice.

27 in mixed driving. It seems to stay at 27 no matter how hard or how much stop and go I drive it.

Mine was the same way, no matter how I drove (unless I was unusually lead footed) was always 28mpg, be it highways at 80mph or mixed use. Pure city, track days, and winter, are about the only times it's substantially off.

S14 SR, i get just ups of 20mpg. I also street race a lot. Its good to mess with civics.....eheheheheh
I was doing an experiment, FUEL Tank is suppose to be 17.2 gallons in s14's.
i go to E mark in about 12-13 gallons of usage. I let it run down after building up courage. Right now my fuel needle is 1/4 tank much below the E and the light just came on 5 miles ago today while driving to work. Any of you guys have this much gap or is my fuel needle way off.
BTW, i will put gas today while going home. I don't think i will run out, Supposedly one still have like a gallon or so in tank when light first comes on, or so i "heard".
If i don't rape all the time at lights and daily driving, or when i go to school to a nearby city, i get good mileage, like ups of 25mpg. One time i had to go highway for over a week and my mileage for that tank was about 31mpg. I was impressed. I was running at stock 8psi/sometimes at high of 15psi during this reading.

Generally the idea of the low fuel light is to give you fair warning. My S13 generally has 3-4 gallons left after first coming on.
A while ago we sat in traffic in my parents accord for an hour with the light on and still had over 3 gallons left by the time we got gas. So your situation is not uncommon.
