Lunch Lady Cited For Allegedly Taking $100,000
(AP) MODESTO, Calif. Police say a Modesto middle school cafeteria worker allegedly pocketed as much as $100,000 in school lunch money over two years.

Ustach Middle School officials called police after suspecting Kathleen Shaffer, of Modesto, stole cash payments for school lunches and then voided the transactions from the cash register.

Once authorities tracked a marked bill to her wallet, Shaffer was put on unpaid leave but not arrested.

Officers were still investigating the embezzlement allegations and say they will file a report with the Stanislaus County district attorney's office.

damn lunch has to be like 3-5 bucks now. even at a buck, times say 500 kids a day times 5 days a week times 10 months, thats like 25 grand a year...damn so at 500 kids a day it has to be like 2 bucks, so if lunch is like 4 bucks then it can be 250 kids' lunch money a day....damn

In my high school, it depended on what it was. The chili cheese fries were the shiz-nit! So where the french bread pizzas. But the hamburgers/cheeseburgers- blech. The tasted all rubbery and the cheese tasted like solidified grease and oil. But the fries were good- especially when they seasoned them right.

But that was at my school.
