I got an s13 coupe, and I know it doesn't have an LSD. I heard the 300zx LSD fits in there. Is that true? If so, could someone give me the step by step of how to install the 300zx LSD into a s13 rear end. Thanks!
your not gonna last a day if you dont learn to search.:spank:

VLSD is for fags. I'm sure the OP doesn't want to be a fag.
Buy a 2way if you have extra scrill.
Since you're in the bay, I highly suggest checking out Luke's Weld Locd v4 diff. Don't deal with all that other bs.

to the OP whats the purpose of your car should be the #1 question to determine what kinda diff he wants to use?

From your post I assume you're into drifting, and that you're broke/on a tight budget. With those parameters, instead of messing around with a 300z Viscous LSD, you should look into getting your stock open differential welded like !Zar! said. Luke does an excellent job and the price on his "Weld Loc'd V4" should be in your range:

Install is relatively simple if you're a habitual/weekend wrencher... Take a look at the link in my signature for a Kaaz LSD Install. A welded diff install is almost identical.
On the other hand, if you have a $500 to $1000-ish budget for a brand new diff, you should look into getting a Kaaz, Nismo, Cusco brand 1.5 or 2 way LSD. If you're not sure what the difference is between "V LSD", "1.5 way" and a "2 way" then you still have some important homework to do before you make ANY decision... BTW just do a search for "weld" and you'll find tons of "debate" threads on here regarding HLSD, VLSD, 1-way, 1.5 way, 2 way and welded diffs. Start here: http://auto.howstuffworks.com/differential.htm.

hey i searched something for you and this is what it came out. try clicking on the link. hopefully it works out for you. http://www.240sx.org/links/installs/lsd/lsd.htm
getting a vlsd is not worth it. if you are on a budget get your open diff welded.

This is old, but will answer anything you want to know about R200 LSD install.
It's cheap, easy, and it's an LSD. There are better, and more expensive options out there. It's not bad (better then open), if you're on a budget. Like others have said if you wanna drift, have you're open diff welded. If you wanna AutoX and you're on a budget it'll work.

"welded diff is the poor drifter's answer to LSD" get it, don't even waste time with VLSD.

+1 for welded, or else save for lsd, don't waste money on vlsd

I know what VLSD is, 1 way, 1.5 way, 2 way, welded, etc. I am into drifting, but I might as well start off cheap before I go with the high prices, that way I save money to buy Kaaz Lsd, suspension, piping or what not. I know VLSD's are not that great, but it's something far from nothing. I agree with PBCSTYLEZ.. I decided what I wanted to use and I am asking a simple question: How do you install the 300zx LSD. That's it... And I posted this cause I know that there is different opinion than the one on the tech. forum. Other people's opinion's matter, but I just have to do the decision. Thanks everyone
