well ive done a fair share of searching and really couldnt find the answer i was looking for
right now im looking for a good upgrade to my rear brakes on my S13...im not looking to go with a Z32 or skyline rear brake setup (just dont feel like dealing with the drum ebrake setup thing)
are there any nissan OEM brakes that bolt on that are larger and work a bit better than stock S13 rear brakes? (i have Z32s upfront and totally love em...the rears just need a bit of sexin up right now)

Not really, unless you want to buy some really expensive Wilwood setup or something like that. I ran an s13 for w/ 30mm z32 up front and stock rear for an entire year, autocrossing twice a week. Then I upgraded to slotted rotors in the back w/ EBC green pads, and once they were heated up, HOOOOOOOLLLLYYYY SHIT.
Don't worry about the calipers, such a small percentage of your braking is done in the rear anyway. If you want a WAY better response from the rear brakes, look at some upgraded rotors/pads. Done and done.

Not really much option unless you go with drum rear.
It's really worth it to do Z32 on all corners (with Z32 M/C) - having Z32 only in front throws off your bias to an extreme degree, and you can delude yourself all you want, but it doesn't make you brake better.
I should know. My car has had that setup for YEARS, and it sucks.
I didn't figure it out until a few months before we left to come here, so I didn't have time to fix it, but it's high on my priority list of shit to do.
For what it's worth, my future plans are to space out my front calipers and run Z33 track rotors, and space out the rear Z32 calipers and run some HUGE (but secret for now) rear rotors.

yah i saw that write up for the WRX calipers...but i didnt wanna go that extreme...was just looking for something with a bit more stopping power to it that didnt require a major overhaul
i think ill just go with some better rotors in the rear (spent 65 bux on pads for the rear..think i just need to mate them with good rotors)

so you want more power and low effort
hrm
make up your mind...do you want to actually stop, or do you want something to have for the sake of having?
get some better pads or "upgrade" to s14 calipers

i was wondering, i know i read a lot of people using the q45 set up because it requires less work than z32 for both front and rear also its an upgrade from stock calipers, my question is would it be wise to combine the 4 pot z32 calipers up front with a q45 rear calipers? rather than combining z32 upfront and stock in the rears. is it safe? any drawbacks (i.e. brake ratio)?

its dangerous. if u install that combo your car will exploded
if ur never tracking your car and not driving like an idiot, your brake bias isn't going to be "unsafe", sheesh

Well, I personally consider Z32 front/stock rear to be really unsafe, and recommend strenuously against it. That's the first thing to be fixed on my car upon my return to the US.

I autocross an S13 in the SCCA D-street prepared class. They let you swap parts between all the 240's. FYI, the front calipers and pads for the ABS models are larger (58mm vs. 56mm) and the S14 rear calipers are larger than the S13's (38mm vs. 35mm) I'm running that setup with a non-ABS 7/8" master cylinder and it has good power with a slightly longer but more linear pedal travel. On the back you'll need to either use S14 e-brake cables or swap the S13 cable brackets to the S14 calipers and bend them slightly to fit.
You can further fine tune your setup with your choice of pads.
