View Full Version : Squeaky Clutch Pedal

Started a couple days ago. Whenever I push in the petal I get a squeaking sound like something is rubbing against something else.

I sprayed WD-40 all over it, mainly on the spring and let it soak overnight. All seemed fine, but as I was pulling into work it started up again.

Any ideas?

There was a past post on the same topic. I dont remember what people said. You should try using the search function. I think I remember one part of someone's thread though..."YOU just have to get used to it". I think many of us have the squeking problem so you aint the only one.

Yeah im giving it the WD-40 treatment. Seems to work well but after repeated use on teh way home it started again. Its like the spring that pushes the pedal back into place is creaking.

I called and asked my dad since hes been driving a stick a lot longer than me and he said when his did his his clutch cable was soon to follow. No biggie he said.

Thankfully we don't have clutch cables
Mine squeaks too. See my signature about it. In fact, every pedal on my car squeaks.
My passenger seat, my sunroof, my shocks, my brakes, my seatblet covers...the list goes on.
12 squeaks is pretty bad though. I think you win

none of that shit works i used lithium grease on the springs and everything else and now i get a pop/clicking noise when i push in the clutch and it also goes nice with the creaking i get coming from outside the car when i press in the clutch.

WD-40 is weak for that application. Use Suzuki Moly Chainlube. Go to your local motorcycle shop. It's about the greatest invention for good quality grease that sprays and sticks. Put down a rag though, cause it will drip off excess before it sets up.

im sorry but that just makes you look really fucking dumb for saying some shit like that.

*edit* and to try and provide some "positive" feedback see if all the plastic clips are still in the pedal where the spring goes. alot of times those can wear out or just your spring itself. use some heavier lube though.

"MacGiver Rigged" or "MacGivered it" is a better term. It's not racist and actually more to the point of what you're trying to say.

I like people that get all worked up because someone said the "N" word... That word has lost it's meaning as an insult to "black" folk. Sorry.

Yeah. That would have been much better. And I wouldn't be appologizing right now.

Lithium grease the hell out of the spring...make sure you get it all over, and don't forget the top of it...works like a charm...
