Hey, i gotta take my car to the state ref and was wondering what they really check? It is just emissions or everthing. Will i have to remove any HID kits I have and what not?

put all your stock stuff back in before the state ref if i were you. the carb legal stuff you can leave them on but have proof.

Depends what you're being reffed for. Ask !ZAR! he got reffed before, I'm sure he'll chime in sooner than later.

take the car off the street, plead with the judge to make the car non-operable because you can't afford to fix the repairs that you know will be found to be nessecary by the ref or just dont admit guilt and just tell them you "junking" the car and your making it non-op

i know i can pass smog. I just wanted to know if the state ref will red flag me when they see my HID or aero.

Aero has zero to do with state ref. And HID has nothing to do with emissions either. They'll check your car with all data. Unless you get a complete idiot checking your car, you'll be fine. Cost is about $35.

Why exactly did they send you to ref?

yeah, that's nothing to worry about, they care only on emissions/smog related, if you have all the emissions stuff still in the car and pass, then no worries

Well, put a license place on and if the intake isn't carb legal then swap a stock one back on. Take it there pay the fee and be on your way.
