The article was great! i like how you have a fullly detailed article that was very clear and easy to read. and on top of that you had great quality pictures to back up the article to make it that much better to read. because we all know how people love picture books. also maybe next time bold the drivers names or any names mentioned so people can just scan and look for what they want to see and read. but other than that great article!!

The article is good. One thing I'd suggest is to have pictures of the events you talk about (crashes/finals) or have links to the drivers name/picture of the car when they are labeled in the text.

Overall a good review but it does remind me some of a recap in Modified Mag. There were a couple of typos and a couple of confusing parts that should be edited and cleaned up.

One example:
First up were Ueno in his Soarer GT Turbo
and Haruyama, driving a Nissan Laurel C35. Both drivers had near-
perfect lines through all 3 turns. Haruyama ended up taking the
points and moving on to the Best 8.
Then later in the article...
The next round
featured an S15 match up, Sakuma vs Ueno. Ueno excelled as did
Sakuma, after several tying runs forced 6 runs instead of the normal 2
to determine a winner. Ueno finally took it, moving on to the Best 8.

???? If Ueno was knocked out by Haruyama then how did he get to battle Sakuma later on? Typo? Another Ueno?

Another Problem:
The
Suenaga Brothers were up next and featured the only RX-7 in the
competition, driven by the younger Masao. Older brother Naoto drove
a Subaru Imprezza WRX GC8. Again, the odd car won out as Masao
moved on.

In this case isn't the "odd car" the WRX? You mentioned that the RX-7 was the only one in competition but they are common in D1 w/ drift samurai and Imamura. The WRX is a little more odd to the series and Naoto drove the old school GC8. Meh, just quibbling over it I guess.

Additionally, you could show a point list of who has the points so we know who the seeded drivers are for the next round at a glance. And where is Kazama? No mention of him even though he is synonymous with D1. Also there is no mention of the judges or any changes to D1 with the new season.

Finally, something really cool that you could do is cover the Street Legal class of D1. Not that many people cover it and its really interesting b/c the tuning legends compete against joe drifter.

Overall a good write up. It just needs some editing and clarification.

I thought that the article was pretty good. So are you guys going to do this for every event?

It's always fun to see them drift on the wet track, especially on Ebisu. Where Kumo said himself that he doesn't like to drift it when it rains.
