Spenser, C, and a few others are registered on here...as well a Hussey, I think. Spens and Hussey are in Pelham/Alabaster area.
C is in Gadsden...and I think thats it as far as Zilvia.net members.
Andy might be on here, he's in Auburn (not far from you).
I'm not active on here much, if at all. Spend most of my time on RoadsterDrift, 240sxforums (where I mod), ALDrift (which was setup by Spens and Brandon...another B'ham guy who needs to get to work on that 510!!!), and a few other car/Miata forums.

Of the 240sx owners/former owners I know (keep in mind most of us met through 240sx's and have moved onto other cars over the years) only a select few spend time on here.
Todd, C, Mario, Brandon, Bryant, Andy, Spens, Keith (my roommate, owner of a S14 Silvia that is pristine and for sale), Hussey, Brent (who's dropped off the face of the Earth), and Boyd are all within an hour of B'ham. Then there's the AlDrift.org guys whom I know few of (b/c I live in T-Town....fuck I hate this place).
Btw, I probably left a few names off that list considering the amount of 240sx owners/enthusiasts I've met over the last 6-7-9 years.....fuck I've been around for too long...lol

I haven't looked in a while, but there's almost always something going on at least 2 weekends out of the month between TVR, the Bham SCCA stuff (autoX), and then the track days at Barbers.

With all the stuff going on this time of year I kinda wish I was more track oriented than I used to be....but college comes first.

Birmingham Race Course is located off I459 @ the Derby PKY exit.
Registration begins at 8:00 and closes at 9:30.
There are usually 80-100 cars @ the event.

More like 40-50 cars. But that depends on weather. Although more people need to come.
The Talladega Grand Prix is this weekend for the TVR (Tenn. Valley) SCCA division. The B'ham guys are hosting it, but I'm pretty sure anyone can run. They need workers bad. I'm hoping to be there Sunday, but it all depends on the car and work.

The SCCA is racing at Barbers the first weekend in July. I should be working it, work permitting. And the Porsche 250 is July 20-22. Its always fun, and there are usually plenty of cars to drool over.

My motor has been apart waiting on a new head for 2 months...and now that I have it, I'm having to wait paycheck to paycheck for the timing belt kit, valve cover gasket, and well....every other gasket. SUCKS.

BUT, its cheaper than Nissan's stuff for the KA or SR. :D

I currently live in Orlando, Fl and my fiancee and I are entertaining the idea of moving closer to her folks into Alabama north of the Fort Payne area which is about an hour or two from Birmingham. Just curious as to if anyone is from this area or atleast familiar with this area? I was wondering what types of events I can expect in this area and if there are any good roads to slide on. I have looked on google maps and see that its only a couple hours or so ffrom atlanta as well which is good for events too so I know theres stuff there atleast. I already have sponsors possibly lined up now, do i have the cars and fans to come. I would charges 25 bucks to race and 5 bucks to get in.

Scott that's great news we'd love to have you come. I'm talking with the track owner next week as were both out of town for the holidays. The facility is mobile international speedway see the facility online at mobilespeedway.net there would be full concessions and millet lite beer garden. We would have the drift track on the speedway an through the pit area. The next big thing for me is to find a few sponsors to help pay for track rental and insurance we will know in just over a week if we will be able to do it. Target day is April 2nd. An if it goes as good as I expect it will I would consider doing it once a month . The more people that show interest in this event the better as I can take these emails to the track owner to show their is a genuine interest for thus type of racing and nobody is doing it now along the gulf coast. This could be major!!!

Improving the streets of Birmingham one car @ a time. I am porsonally a MA70 guy (1991 7MGTE) but just plucked a black 98 S14 virgin with low low miles from ATL for my 16 year old son. Nothing too crazy planned. Full Megan Racing Suspension with street coilovers, and other basic bolt'ons. I will be at Birmingham Race Course for the Drift with both cars to spectate.

11am Gates Open
11am - 12pm Registration, Driver Check In, and Technical Inspection
12:15pm Drivers meeting
ASAP - 1st car on Track
8:00 pm SHUTDOWN. Facility Closes/Secure Track

Driver Instructions Leading up to the Drivers Meeting:
* Please take your car to the pit entrance and prepare your car for tech.
* After tech you will pit at your designated parking spot or go to pre-stage if you're in the 1st run group. Wait for drivers meeting.
* For tech inspection requirements the official rulebook can be found HERE.
THERE WILL BE ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY ON ALL CARS THAT DO NOT PASS TECH THE DAY OF THE EVENT. IF YOUR CAR DOES NOT PASS TECH YOU WILL NOT DRIVE AND YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE A REFUND!!
* Tandem will be allowed for approved drivers only. Due to insurance requirements, all tandem drivers will be required to wear a fire suit in addition to the normal roll cage requirements. Please contact us once you have registered if you are a previously approved tandem driver so that we can place you in the appropriate run group. NO passengers in Tandem groups.

Event Rules and MISC:
*Speed limit in the facility is set @ 5 mph and WILL BE STRICTLY ENFORCED.
*Any person(s) engaging in an unsafe or inappropriate behavior on or off the track as deemed by the event organizer, track officials, and/or venue, will asked to leave!! NO WARNINGS
*The facility has many barrels which can be utilized as trash receptacles. In order to maintain a good relationship with the facility and event organizers, we encourage all participants to pick up trash and clean up their pit areas.
*Although not encouraged, changing of any fluids on the property the day of the event will require a proper drain pan, minimal/no spillage, and fluid will not be left on-site. Any fluid must be taken with you and properly disposed of on your own terms OFF OF THE PROPERTY. If spills do occur, clean up MUST be performed by the person performing the task or you will be asked to leave the premises.
*Failure to abide by all of TO's/Facility's rules will result in being removed from the premises without refund and possible banishment from any future Traction Optional events.

I just finished a small rebuild with my S13 last week. Put in a new clutch, slave cylinder, clutch line and rebuilt axles. Oh and an ISIS short throw. I went ahead and raised the rear up to a proper height too.

Keep your eye's peeled for more drift events coming up in Huntsville. Should have a new venue this summer (perhaps sooner?) which will allow for a huge increase in space compared to Joe Davis Stadium, which has still been a good spot regardless.

And speaking of Alabama, where you Birmingham drift guys at? I hear from Cody N. from time to time, but even he doesn't drift. Used to be in touch with some of the old AL-Drift people from back in ~2007, but even that was a far-cry from how hard Huntsville's been going for these past 2 years or so.
How on earth does Huntsville have a much bigger following and countless events over B'ham, even though it's a smaller city? Not meaning to start shit at all, just curious as to how and why the drift crowd could be any bigger at all (let alone much bigger) for a smaller city in the same state. Would love to find out I'm completely wrong and that there's a shit-load of you guys out there, and that I just somehow missed ya.
