Altima question?

A buddy of mine has a 97 Altima, and his air bag light has started flashing at him while the engine is running. Key in the on position with engine off and engine running, same symptom. My first thought was that this had something to do w/ the airbag system itself, maybe a loose connection, etc.. though he has no CEL. Anyone have any ideas?

As for the flashing airbag light, the SRS module has detected a fault and the flashing airbag light is alerting you to the malfunction. You can access the codes by turning the key to the ON position and pressing the drivers door switch at least 5 times within 7 seconds. Then just count the flashes.
