more depends on the major you want. otherwise for just general educations then you can pick any so cal cal state and have a good time! my cousin goes to cal state northridge, attending film school. pasadena to northridge dricing lik e20-45 minutes depending on the day. and the beach whether it be santa monica or huntington are about 1 hour away!

My friend told me some crazy percentage of the female population at UCSB has some sort of STD...

Gross.

you guys must have never been on the CSULB (Long Beach) campus... guy to girl ratio is like 1:3! LOL
iirc, They were even mentioned in Playboy one time about the females that flock there...
but in all seriousness, I go to Cal Poly Pomona, good campus, they're on a quarter system (10 week courses as opposed to 16 weeks), very good school with a good student to faculty ratio (depending on what college your in, but for the most part, yes). and if your into nerdy ass asian chicks, or dudes in general... its the school for you, LOL

UCSB is fun, but it's easy to get lost there. Isla Vista (UCSB isn't actually in SB) is a shithole and the parties are Insane (with a captial "I"). And yes, allegedly an amazing amount of people have STD's there. I wouldn't know personally because I made a point never to try my luck. And none of my friends admitted to anything. If you want a party school, look at SDSU. But it's also easy to get lost there, too. Most people I know who went there took more than 5 years to graduate. But they certainly had some great stories.

You'll have fun anywhere you go (hell, I went to UC Davis and had a blast). You really should visit schools before deciding if possible.

According to us news & world reports, Cal Poly San Luis has one of the better undergrad business/management/marketing programs in the west.

If you want to finish school as soon as possible, look at private schools. They will cost more, but you will finish asap. And typically their alumni love to hire alumni.

Check it out here, but don't let these rankings be the basis of your decision. Use it as a starting point.

Remember: the name of the school on your diploma will only help getting you your first job. After that, your resume will be the deciding factor.

Every asian girl out of high school goes to Irvine or Davis... I have yet to find the logic in this but I am sure they are good schools... not just another asian group gathering

I say, come to cali and goto community college while you get California residency( 1 year I think it is?) so once you get residency unit prices at any university will be allot cheaper. Unit prices at community colleges in San Diego are like 25 per unit, out of state prices for the same exact unit is like 300. It's the same kind of ratio at the upper universities.

A buddy of mines came from Texas and was going to a Cypress CC... his out of state fees for 12 units at a community college came out to around $900!! Thats like resident University tuition!

like university tuition for locals, but out of state tuition would easily be double or triple that.

Nor-cal compared to So-cal is completely different. I grew up down south and have been living up north for the past 6 years. I like it better up here. San Francisco is sick and the environment...in my opinion is a bit better up here. There are schools like SFSU, or SJSU up here. I'm thinking of one of those two. But there are plenty more. If you're looking into bussiness UC Santa Cruz is good too. That's a lot like the O.C. area down south, but I think there might be more hippies lol.

yes but are the accredited? I believe only two csu's are accredited for business. CSULA is one and not sure on the other.

If you want a beautiful campus pepperdine is the place. or was it pitzer? The one that looks over the ocean. anyway. CSULB and UCSB (ucsb isnt in your list though). avoid csula, people here are gay bitches!

Me - CSULB

Started off as business but now I'm almost finished with Interpersonal and Organizational Communication.

Pretty sure there are 3-4 girls for every guy.
The damn campus is like a carnival most of the time, especially spring semester. People selling shit you don't need. Rnadom people protesting something. Pools, mini skirts, sandals, boobs, another pool. a pyramid. they just had a drift demo last monday...

I go there for class and then go home. No need to stay there any longer than I need to...

csun is in the valley, if you don't like to be scorched in 120 degree temperature, don't go there, biz prgm is good tho, it's pretty much a commuter school, not really close to the beach

sd has a lot of cops, cops with nothing better to do, don't bring your car down if you go there...

Greek Row FTW....but it was great a couple years ago, now I heard you cant even drink in your own private parking lot passed 11pm. FreeBirds+drunk people=best fights ever. FYI UCSB has the highest STD rate of any CA university

This is odd. Guy wants to know how schools are over here, and he receives comments on the party life or the girl to guy ratio--both, in my opinion, factors to consider, if at all, only if straddling the wall, both definitely not being deciding factors; I mean, I swear academics mattered at one point in time.

My advice: go to the best school possible. Though, I'd avoid SF State if you're looking for any life outside of school, as it's considered, for the most part, a commuter school. Or, If you're really serious, go to a community college and transfer into UC Berkeley which has the best undergrad business program on the west coast, ranking number 2, overall, in the nation. So, again, go to the best school possible, put in the work now, chill later in you're Ferrari.

Here is my real opinion on CSULB

I hate going there. There is approx. one person there that makes it worth my time. Other than that, the school is filled with idiots who are concerned about how they look and what the newest fashion trend is. Every class I'm in has the people with their computers surfing MySpace or talking to people on Sidekicks. Of course, these people thin out at my academic point, I usually have only a few of these examples for each class.
I hate walking through the campus and hearing all sorts of conversations about girls bitching about their guys, Guys bragging about the girls they fucked last weekend at Brad's kegger, What party is coming up next weekend, What club is going on, having tons of people there handing out flyers for the dumbest shit ever. (my new line to those people is, "I'm famous, I don't need the flyer.") lol.
This is why I enjoy going to class, then leaving and ging home.

On another note,

The campus is nice. Very beautiful. A lot of attractive people. A lot of fun professors. etc.

I don't think it is a bad school, but if you want a "real" kind of college, go somewhere else. Berkeley rules. That is the stereotypical campus I always imagined when I thought of college.

Happy Wednesday.

the group where the guys compete who can fit into the tightest jeans/shirts and girls who dress up like they are going clubbn...ahahahah but for reals the CSULB Buisness program is nationally accredited but is very impacted. Either way I think going to a CC first then transfering to CSULB, USC or a UC school is the way to go.:rawk: GO BEACH
