Has anyone painted a carbon fiber hood and had any success?
What are the steps involved in the process? Is there a special primer needed?
thanks

im pretty sure you sand off the clear coat...if there is one on ur particular piece...and then paint it the same way you would anything else for a car. im not sure if youd use a metal primer or a plastic primer. Ask a body shop on that one unless someone else knows on here. Also if you want the carbon fiber look...get transluscent paint

Depends what you are trying to do...
If you want to redo the clear then wet sand with 2000 very carefully until you can see the clear dissappear kinda melt away...respray with clear don't know how much reducer or any of the technical painting details...
If you want to paint the whole thing just scuff up the clear like you paint any other thing and primer with either primer and repaint
Airbrush is also possible but that's too complicated to explain
