well, i recently swapped a dohc into my 90... long story short, i shut my hood today after bleeding the cooling system and it immediately started to bog out. I tried giving it some throttle and it refused to go past ~2700rpms. i plan on changing the fuel filter at the end of the week, but what will cause this? ive never even attempted to check for codes from the ecu because i dont know how but from what i found when i searched ill try to get it done... im so F*CKING frustrated with this car i am almost ready to just get rid of it... someone help.....

Does it pop and back-fire when you try to rev it up? If so, then you've got a timing issue. If not, then a fuel filter is a great place to start. Next, I would check the MAF and suspect the fuel pump.

MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR @[email protected] anytime a nissan runs like shit around 3,000 rpm 99.9% of the time it needs a mass air flow sensor.

nope no back-firing, the engine was complete when i bought it so i didnt have to time it... it was running well because i took it out for three test drives, all three ending in overheating, and i had just finished bleeding it after putting in a different radiator... ill try the fuel filter and is there any way to check if the mafs is bad?

Unplug the mafs and see if it runs fine until 2500. If its runs without any problems than your mafs is probably bad, if its no different than your mafs is probably fine.

i think i probably knocked the mafs out of sorts because it didnt start boggin out until i closed my hood... i let it drop about 3 to 4 inches and i think it knocked the mafs some. Im not sure if that would screw it up, but maybe
