Anyone else seem to go through a lot of headlight bulbs? I tend to replace one of the low beams every six months or so, whether they're standard replacements or the (preferred but alot more expensive) Silverstars. This has been since I bought the car, 8 years ago now...

Every 6 months is too much. Sure it isn't getting wet/damp in there?

You have a problem. You need to check your wiring/grounding.

Absolutely, no condensation inside the housing. I originally thought it was due to vibration from a worn out tension rod bushing, but it's continued since that was replaced (3 years now). I only thought about it now since I just dropped it off for inspection, and yep, another low beam out!

Hmmm... I'll see if there are some separate grounds for the lamps that can be loosened/cleaned/replaced...

Thanks

The headlights share a common ground with most of the other forward parts, there's one bolted on either side of the radiator on the back side of the core support. I'd suspect it's more likely a bad switch or diode though. Pull the switch and check the resistance on it. You might also remove the headlights completely and clean the inner mounting rings thoroughly.

i assume this is for an s14 97-98. no point in wasting time with the factory wiring setup anyway, just build a relay harness and be done with that shit.

more light, better performance, less problems.

also, be sure your bulbs are securely mounted. they should last a lot longer, but it can vary depending on how stiff your suspension is. you want to monitor the current going to the bulbs, make sure its good power.
