So, i've decided i want to rebuild my old ka. it's got a solid 17*,***ish miles, don't really know since the dash stopped working about 2 weeks ago. Any way, i heard that sohc pistons in a dohc increases power because of a change in compression ratio or something. Just curious about it, and effects/reliability, and possible effects of a turbo on this setup.

I wouldn't even bother utilizing KAE pistons. Just save up and buy a well known brand of forged pistons/ total seal rings. In this sense, you will not have to worry about destroying them while turbo. Hense, you'll probably blow something else, but that's why you do research before any major upgrades.
And don't get me wrong. The KAE has much potential. It is rumored or told that there is/was an S14 race car that is powered by the single cam KA generating 300+BHP. I think I reviewed it here on the forum somewhere. Anyway, take your time, don't rush, buy quality parts, no ebay, research FSM, and continue to ask many questions.
