Not the Usual Question on exhaust, because I don't own a 240sx.
But, I saw this:

I can see that the 2.35in piping (greddy Sp2 size) offers some nice bumb down low, but the 3.0 Holds all its power to redline. I have an autotragic, and don't plan on swapping anytime soon. Futhermore this car is my DD, so I want something that will offer a quiet tone around town (3000rpms and below) and fairly loud (not super loud) at WOT.
VRS, Greddy, And Custom (though no mandrel bends) are my options. Some input from you guys would be nice.

I am one of the ones singing the praises of custom.
Summit Racing for the mufflers and your local muffler shop for the welding/piping.
3 inches, go ahead and do it the first time, to keep from having to go back and do it over.

Suggestions on Size? How about a Cat? This car is fairly old, and I'm sure a Cat replacement wouldn't hurt.
I had to ask you guys, because no one on out forums has tried it yet.

Everyone and their mother has tried.... exhaust topics are brought up constantly. Its no use to ask other people what YOU should run because they might have a different preference than you. if you want it quiet go with a 2.5, if you don't mind the level of noise, go with 3"

Altima.
Looking for
More power (top end prefered to complement cams)
Not to much noise
VRS offeres a full SS Catback, and Uses a Magnaflow Res and Muffler, But again, I don't want it to drone at 2500rpms as I'm driving to work.

I searched, and found a lot of topics. My car is a tad different than A 240sx, and this has never been done on an Altima (as far as I know). Actually, until I challenged my forums a year ago, it was belived anything above 2.25inchs was a waste...

I am being as deliberately patient as I can be, here.
I suggested 3 inches for performance gains, as all substantiatable evidence has presented in the history of the KA engine. If sound is your concern, then 2.5" is the answer, but know that you settled for less on at least one front.
Cat? Depends on your locale, will the lack of one fail you in your car's being legal? If so, have one, if not, then get a test pipe.

Again, get the muff/resonator from Summit yourself and get it done at a muffler shop.

I didn't realize it was for the altima, my bad. however, i think the 2.5 will be more suitable for you. Bigger than stock, but won't be too loud. Like you said, the KA lacks some power up top so if you free up the exhaust you will shift some power in those higher RPM's.
Now for the cat...if you still want a little more power up top, get a test pipe. A Header will help too so you might want to look into one. I currently have my SOHC KA with headers, test pipe, buddy club spec II and the power up top has been much improved. The exhaust setup is virtually free flowing, the spec II has no muffler... : )

Stillen 4-1, and JWT cams/Ecu. The exhaust is the final step

You can search these topics all day, and I found a million that say "search" and very few that actually answer the questions asked. I understand how you feel, and what you're saying. But Your ignoring what I'm asking. Your answer is far to generic, and doesn't offer what I'm looking for.
"Order a Muffler and a Res from summit" Which one do you recommend?
I also mentioned only Cush bended pipe was availiable in my area, but and you noticably ignored that reasoning.
So let me narrow down the Question. I need to find a Good High flow cat, and A Quiet (but not restricitve) muffler for this set up. Is that more specific?

I have a Custom 3" HKS Ti with Cat and a magnaflow resonator its quieter then all my friends exhausts.
Its pretty loud at WOT, with a very deep tone to it.
I like how i can have a huge exhaust in nazi ass cali and i have yet to get pulled over for modified exhaust.
Custom is the way to go,and if you want quiet i suggest getting a magnaflow resonator.
!Zar!

Why the fuck can't someone figure out something as simple as exhaust.
Get a catco hiflow cat, or hks cat. You choose.
Then buy a 3" oval canister exhaust. All the N1's are loud on a NA car. There you go. Quiet exhaust that will give you performance and save the babies.

Fucking Thank you. It wasn't so hard now was it?
Cacto Cat, Magnaflow Res, and a Nice oval Muffler.

No, it really wasn't that hard. I don't even know why the question was asked anyways....

Being in FL (no emissions) I would just go ahead and get a resonated test pipe. :bigok:

Fuel dump, flame front, A/f ratios, along with displacement=exhaust diameter. If your not dumping enough fuel or have ignition timing to peak flame front who gives a shit!!!!!!!!!!
