it can be done. its very hard, very stupid, very expensive, and very pointless. You do not have the fabrication skills to do it at all. If you like that motor so much, why not buy a 300zx?...............
89 240sx
03-31-2007, 11:26 PM
well the 300zx is to hevy and i do not like the rear but its a nice car any way i would not do it i would pay someone to.and one good thing about it is that it is a u.s motor and i can get parts for it easyer then lets say a sr motor well thatnks for thrying to help me and i did find that thread they had on it before and i just wanted to let you know that florida is very nice i just got back from tempa and pepole are differend then in my f*****ed up area

lol youd pay alot more to have it swapped in and running then to buy a 300zx or 2

If your looking for a domestic motor look at an LS1 swap.

if you get a non t-topped 300zx they arent that heavy...But guess why they are so heavy? They have a massively large iron block v6 in them with two turbos and two intercoolers and a beefy ass transmission. If you put that in your 240, its going to be quite a bit more heavy as well.

04-04-2007, 12:33 AM
well i do not know anything abut how much it will cost to do but if i think about it it is heavy bicause of the big motor and trany but i want to be abel to get stuff for the motor that i m puting in the in the u.s not have to specil oder som part or not be abel to find parts but yall said ls1 thats a chey motor right and how much would that cos and how much hp do you get and how heavy my spelling is not the best

you have to modify the cross emember, you have to modify the oil pan, you have to modify the oil sump, you have to make completly custom motor mounts as there is no kits avaiable, you have to bang the firewall, you need a custom driveshaft, custom shifter linkage assembly thing, custom Ic piping for the dual tb set up, a way to mount the maf before the 2 turbos, modify the fuel rails on the VG, study teh FSM of both cars, for wiring, u need a 6cylinder tach.
the only things I can think off the top of my head. there is alot more to it.

your kidding right?
parts for a sr20 is not that hard to find anymore and the ls1 motor will probably cost as much or probably less than the vg30dett (thats the 300zx motor right?). ls1 makes more horsepower and is lighter too. i can keep going but if you have to ask how much work that has to be done then you probably shouldn't do it.

Dude, this is what you need to do:
1. Go back to grade school and learn english.
2. Take a English class on grammar and punctuation.
3. Come back, BUT DONT POST.
4. READ and SEARCH
5. Then, just maybe then, we might help
Skip any of the stages, head to Nico.

Contact a guy by the username of "300sx" on Freshalloy. He's had a vg swap in an s13 and an s14. Did cost him a lot, but it's got more balls than any other swap I've seen in an s13 or s14. Freshalloy has more info than Zilvia in my opinion and most members are more mature.

Not being from the US is no excuse for being an ignorant fucklick. You know how to use the internet, type that shit into www.google.com, you'll be amazed.

04-04-2007, 11:04 PM
hahaha fucklick....thats a new one
but to add something constructive. it looks like you want more power on a STOCK motor?
the SR20DET swap is extremely common for the s13 (but you probably already knew that)
the next popular swaps are the RB engines from the skylines: RB20det, RB25det, RB26dett (twin turbo like the VG-TT)
The new swap which is gaining a lot of popularity is the LS1 which comes from the Camaro. Theres a kit from Hinson SuperCars that helps with this swap.
the VG swap can be done, its just not the most ethical choice. the custom fab would be more than practical. and for the record, a 300zx is a SWEET car. my friend has owned a NA VG and a VG-TT. the extra weight is honestly not noticeable, even in autocross.
just my 2 cents

This is quite likely a troll.
No one this stupid could possibly walk upright to a computer, or even crawl toward ones. That would require more mental capacity than he's demonstrated.

Buy 10 cars and not know what I want. You asked for it. Atleast I can properly FUCKING TYPE and punctuate. As far as owning 10 cars, add Math to the list too of things you should learn. Since I have only owned 6 you fuckstick. And as far as I am concerned, I havent paid over $650 for anyone of them and more then quadrupled my money on everyone of them all to fund my project car. So take your S13 and keep dreaming because your a fanboy just like the rest of the FF era kids. Go troll Nico.
P.S. Oh and info is good? Search and read it instead of being tit fed.

If you are looking for a lot of horsepower on a stock motor that you can get lots of parts for look into the LS1 swap. Yes it's a chevy engine, but its putting out 350hp stock and with a little modification you can get a lot more power. The LS1 weighs around 150lbs less than the KA that is in your car now. You can pick up an LS1 w/ low miles on ebay for $2500-4,000. There is actually a page all about it on here.... check it out... http://www.zilvia.net/f/showthread.php?t=105615

didnt know if you are aware but you can mate the z32 twin turbo block to the Q45's auto trans (same as z32 tranny) and drop it in a q45...... 700hp luxury sedan????
look up a video on google under vh45zxtt... pretty neat.... he puts a VH45DE with the z32 turbos on it in his z32
i mean, if you're gonna go big, why not put a DOHC (per side) aluminum head and block V8 with around 300hp (detuned) to start with and add 2 turbos? Theres a guy who's done it in a Z32, and S12 (ask john griff for links to that one.... its in AU somewhere) and even a 240zx. i think the lowest horsepower was around 700hp and that was with an afc

oh, and my friend tractor just put a Z32 motor in his S12...... LOL, you can do it..... its only as hard as you make it. just think and plan everything out BEFORE you do it and it'll go smooth (ROFL)

ehh, the VG suxxx. I've had a handful of friends fully build those motors and they still go. just too much shit in a small engine bay with turbos just stuffed down there. Look for a better and more reasonable alternative. I think a built SR would be much better and more affordable than the VG setup, imho.

And wow, i think i've owned at least 21-22 cars if that helps provide any credibility,k 15 of which i still own WTF i'm an idiot i know and that's what my wife tells me. not to mention working in the aftermarket auto industry for the past 15 years i'm sure might help as well. Just remember costs costs costs, and then again long term costs costs costs. do the math over a 5 year period and see what provides you the best results for the best price.

seriously, i have to agree, just put an SR in there.... its the (arguably) best motor for this car, LOL. That's why there is such a following and this website exists.

when did anyone ask for credentials? you double posted.
I helped the aforementioned s12 swap over. It was actually, pretty simple. We used some z31 parts, and some hockey pucks.
Custom Fabrication tools: Dremel.
s12 crossmember is = s13 (mounting pads).

You are so ridiculously annoying to listen to. 250hp and you wanted a vg30dett? They make like 290stock. Just turbo your motor, nothing wrong with doing that.

Dude if your worried about mileage you can get a DE for dirt cheap. My friend got one for a 120 bucks a few months ago(not saying you will) just fucking search. ebay, friends, ka-t, here, google, etc, etc, etc. Check out the ka24det faq and get and idea of what you need for a turbo ka or search and do it. Yes the ka can handle the power. It can hold 300hp stock bottom end not recommended though. Like I was told make sure other shit is learned and installed before just starting from no experience to driving 250hp. Get brakes Z32 callipers, suspension, tires/wheels. Make sure your car can handle it and make sure you can stop and are safe. Hope I helped GL

A good friend of mine did the swap, and it took A LOT of fabrication, which in turn took a lot more money than I'm sure you have, since you can't even afford to get a proper English education.
It's called GRAMMAR. Use it.

seroisly yo, if your just gonna end up paying someone else to do it, just go to like heavythrottle.com order a swap package and find a shop to swap it in for you....depending on where you live its probably going to be easy as hell to find a place to do it for you....if you live in CA or FL region....i however live in Wisconsin...Bum Fuck Egypt...but then again i won't be paying or trusting anyone to do my swap for me. But if you buy a swap package you'll get an SR20 (black or red top, your choice) and they'll even give you a few goodies to get some extra hp from it...damn...i don't even own a 240 nor have i ever and i knew that....speaking of which lol, if anyone has a cheap stock 240 that runs decently PM me....i know its not the right section but when i get some funds i'll make a post in the right section....being a high schooler sucks ass yo! oh and welcome to our country, now learn english and conform to the rest of american society lol. have a great day! :)
