I did a search on hatchback trunk light. Got a lot of responses but not like I have.

So, I hope someone can help.
If I close the hatch all the way the cargo light comes on. But, if I lift up on it (while its locked) it goes out, or if I just open the HB it goes out. So basically the light stays on all the time. I ended up just pulling out the bulb so it doesn't run my bat. down.

Wow, no one has had this problem.

I guess I just won't have a trunk light.

spunds like the switch wires are reversed. It's just a simple switch that closes when the latch is open and turns on the light. Check the wiring starting from the latch and followit back to the bulb. Look for melted or crossed wires. Also check for any signs of previous owner tampering.

Funny though I think my glove box is doing the same thing:ugh:

Again prolly a loose/worn switch. My glove box light works when it wants to.

Also check your main fuse under the driver's kick panel. Always a good starting point.

Why would you check the fuse?

There's a main fuse that has a white outline around it on the cover diagram. That's your main fuse.

If that's blown you'll get all kinds of wierd problems. Power accessories not working right, lights going on or off at wierd times.

Worth checking since it take about 5 seconds.
