ka-t and tranny

hey just got a quick question.. i have a buddy of mine that rebuilds motors and stuff like that... anyways... he is wanting to sell me a ka24det with a c19 turbo from a mitsubishi and all the hard piping including fmic and the tranny which has just been rebuilt stage 3 act clutch all for $1000 should i jump all over this? he is one of my friends and i know he knows his shit so he wont screw me over.. but just thought i would ask u guys

If he knows his shit, why are you asking internet douche bags? The clutch(with pressure plate) could go for 300-400 bucks alone... Tranny is about 200. You do the math...doesn't sound horrible.

well... cuz i normally dont buy performance shit for my car.. just getting into it thats why i ask these "internet douche bags"..lol.. but yeah im prolly just gonna get it

What fuel management does he have, and list all the parts he changed to suit a boosted engine. Like injectors, fuel pump and, whatnot. There is more to a turbo car than just a turbo, manifold and, frontmount.

umm... stock sr injectors... everything else is pretty much stock minus some 9.5-1 pistons and its got a short throw in the tranny as well... dont know about the fmic.. i think its from an srt-4

Sounds like a junkyard special... Turbo from a Mitsubishi, Intercooler from a Dodge...

I'd stay away from it... Research over here on KAT setups and you will find out that it isn't that much more to do it right...

nothing wrong with "junkyard specials" as far as turbo set-ups go. I'd take a junkyard special over an ebay special any day.

Sounds like a decent price, but what kind of 9.5-1 pistons did he put in? Are they forged? That is stock compression, why didn't he lower it if he is boosting the engine?
