I'm new here so please, not verbal rapeings about this qustion, alright? lol.

My brother-in-law owns a 1997 240 sx se model. He currently isn't sporting any aftermarket parts or mods although he does sport a very impressive stero system with two 12 inch focals mounted in the back. Eclipse headunit \ dvd screen \ dvd player. Focal Mids and Tweeds. Memphis Bell Amp, he got his blocks and caps somewhere but anyways... it's gay because it's auto and he wont change it over to a stick *l*

I'm currently talking to my summer school teacher about buying his 1996 240 SX SE , It has a 60k mile record and was in a minor wreck when he bought it. He's the 2nd owner but apparantly he knew the man who owned the car lot who housed the car -- which was consiquently a luxuray [ forgive me on spelling.. I'm a tard, and I'm in a hurry ] car. It was given an indigo paint job and is in damn near perfect condition except for some molding problems on the back window. Now here is my debate.

I have recently winged my dad over towards wanting to buy a 240sx , with combineing his and my money togethor to get it. Coach offered 9k for it -- which I thought was a great price considering. Although would I be better off waiting it out? I'm not thinking about makeing major modifications as to I lean more to sound competition more then engine work...

[B]Should I wait on would is an almost sure bet on this 240 for the hopes of finding a better one? As Rare as they are, I came here for some advice... [B]

What kind of accident was it involved in? Was it a salvaged title after that accident? Im not really sure what you're asking for? Should you wait to find a better deal on another 240sx? Well $9k for a 96' sounds kinda pricey, probably because the good mileage. Now it depends on where you live if there are more 240sx's to look at. Does it have to be a S14 (95-98)?? S13 might be a little bit more easier to find. If you are going for sound and not engine, then maybe you dont have to worry to much on the mileage of the car = lower price. Test drive it, see if you really like it or not. Then decide.

WARNING: You will most likely enjoy the test drive, if the car is in good condition.

Mine was in an accident before I got it. I say, with those minor trim problems look for any rust or leaking problems. If everything else seems fine. I say no more than $8.5k for it. The milage is good so that definately helpes the price.

As for sound accoustics. you probably know from your bro's car that the interior of the car is formed quite well and doesn't rattle or vibrate much. I'm going to put a system in also. There's this cool thing you can do... next to your rear passanger seats behind those arm rest covers. you can put 10" in and no one will know. There's some info about it on www.240sx.org in the installs section.

Yes, my car was voted best stock s14, but it won't be stock for long.
