So basically i cant read the japanese instructions for the greddy type m, and it looks like you need to do something different with the s15 install. i cant find a vaccuum line that is before the throttle plate. since the cold pipe niple was eliminated, and the s15 throttle body doesnt seem to have an output before the throttle plate like the s14 sr one did. so im at a loss and would appreciate any input. thanks!

well its weird, the instructions show a little picture of tapping into a existing vaccuum line with some kind of kit for the s15 install. none of the vaccuum lines run off the cold pipe before the throttle body. it has like a paragraph of info in japanese what you are supposed to do but i cant read it lol. i dunno if the kit comes with some kind of valve or what not..but ill try to call greddy or go weld a nipple on my hot pipe =/ i dont trust myself tapping something so thin.

up by walnut creek. i thought the wastegate was always supposed to be hooked up before the throttle plate? i have it hooked up to the same line as the bov at the moment and im getting major compressor surge..compared to when i had it on the cold pipe.

it does have to be hooked up before the throotle plate on the IC piping

OK, for the S15 fmic you don't need to use those long vaccumm lines they provide.

On the cold pipe, the bigger outlet is for your recirculation valve (BOV). The smaller outlet on the cold pipe is for your IACV. This is routed to the far right (if your are looking at it) biggest inlet next to the throttle body.

That's all you'll need to hook up. Oh yea and drill into your hotpipe for your wastegate source.

The other two smaller inlets under the throttle body can either be used as vaccumm source for a BOV, charcoal canister, gauges, etc.

Woops. I have always had the wastegate connected to the TB. I will move it to the hotpipe.

sorry for the late reply guys, ive been really sick the past week. anyway i went to get a nipple welded on my hotpipe..but it was a friday afternoon and the place didnt want to do it. they BSed about not knowing what kind of metal it was and they didnt have a pipe small enough etc etc. even tho i told them what it was and brought a pipe. so i ended up putting my s14sr throttle body on for the extra vaccuum line before the plate. works like a charm.

Slidin: you can have it on the throttlebody, BUT it needs to be on a line before the throttle plate. the s15 does not have any before, only after. s14sr does have two before the plate, and i dunno about s13.

what?

thats ghetto.

go buy a fucking pipe barb and tap it onto the hot pipe.

they didn't want to weld the nipple in because small aluminum stuff is rediculously hard not to melt.

Why is running a S14 SR20DET TB more ghetto than using a pipe barb? Its more expensive and harder to find the the S14 SR20DET TB than it is to tap a pos pipe barb into the hot pipe you retard. :fawkd:

i had it from a blown s14sr i had. so it was free, which makes it better, and took like 5 minutes to put on. i guess thats hella ghetto..o_O
