kind of curious to see how they would look on a car and how they would hold up after a track day or two.

some have black coatings, but the part you see most easily, the braking surface, will rub off right away. you'll end up with a rotor with a black hat section. not bad, but not really worth a lot of effort.
PDM has them in black.

i think it'll be dope if the car is stealth mode, all black, limo tint, black rims, black rotors and paint the caliper black

i've seen carbon material rotors advertised in a british racing performance mag about a year ago.
pretty worthless info, but if you can find a mag called automotive technology at the rack, you might still see them there.
too expensive to buy for looks.

That's the rotor hat, I think he wants it all black
I remember talking to some people at Powerslot a while ago, they said they could put a black or olive green coating over the actual rotor portion
But then once you actually apply brakes then bye bye finish
You can't have a black rotor, I don't think that's possible

im in wilmington nc:aw:
i figured any coating would go away after a few times braking hard but i figured id ask and see. i know people make calipers with black rotor hats but i was talking about the actual rotor surface. o well:-/

Inless they find some sort of black metal alloy in outerspace and bring it back to make rotors, its no dice. Everything else is just a coating the rubs off after you break a few times. Maybe powdercoat it? Not sure how that would effect breaking performance though.

Think about what a powder coating is and how brakes work :fawk:

I've got it... you just put a little nozzle on there that resprays your rotors back to black right after the caliper. Sure it gets worn off, but then it's back!
/inventor
The only flash your rotors need are some slots.

ATS Across/Carbonetics Carbon composite brake rotors
If your asking how they look and whether or not they hold up on a track, you probably can't afford them
Not that any of us really can

I had a friend who decided to paint his calipers black.
While they were still on the car.
Needless to say, his rotors were black for a little while.
Don't think I forgot, Greg!

You can paint them black and they'll stay like that forever. Just remove the brake line from the back of the caliper first.

all coatings wear off as soon as you hit the brakes so its a wastes of money. i guess if you really want dark colored rotors you can spend thousands off $$$ on carbon rotors

but seirously, I had black zinc coating on my rotors...the braking surface wore off in literally 2 full stops.
