ok so I just got my clutch replaced and they told me my slave cylinder was going out, I have a new slave cylinder that I bought the other day. when my car would start it made a slight screech like it was grinding gears, and now it won't start at all. could this be due to the slave cylinder going completely bad?
also where is the slave cylinder located on the car? any help is greatly appreciated.
the battery is fine, fuel pump is clicking and the connection to the starter is good. I chnged out my oil earlier today and let the car warm up, changed the oil, and then started the car back up again and let it idle with mild revs for about 5 minutes and checked the fluid, it was all good. then when I left to go to work, it didn't start.

Your clutch slave cylinder is located on your transmission. It's bolted right to the side of it, near the bottom of the bell housing, at the clutch release fork. It has nothing to do with whether your car will start or not. It's only job is to push the clutch release fork, engaging your clutch when you shift gears.
When you say it won't start, do you mean it won't turn over? Does the engine spin when you turn the key to the start position, or does nothing happen?

well if the slave cylinder has gone completely bad and wont engage the fork, wouldn't the engine not start?
now it doesn't even crank at all, the fuel pump clicks and everything. the battery I tried jumping it because I was installing my stereo and I drained the battery during that. even if the altenator was bad the car would still start while being jumped. I checked the electrical connection to the starter and that was all good as well.
I just paid 800 bucks for a new clutch and flywheel and I am not going to take it back to drop even more money.

The slave cylinder pushes the fork, which pushes the throwout bearing against the pressure plate, by doing so it disengages the clutch from the flywheel, as stated this as nothing to do with why your engine won't crank. You can start the car with the clutch engaged as long as its in neutral (assuming of course the clutch switch is bypassed).
If the starter isn't even spinning and your battery is good, check that the starter solenoid switch is connected, its a small plug right next to the main starter connection, could've been loose from them re-installing the starter after changing the clutch. I would also double check the voltage with the key in the on position to make sure you have over 11 volts, anything less and the battery wont have enough amperage to crank the engine.

More than likely, you have a bad starter, or low battery voltage.
Test, accordingly.
As well, i have noticed a series of bad clutch interlock relays. It seems as with other devices on the S13, these are failing now. Check the clutch interlock relay.

cool I will have to check the starter connection and remove that damn intake manifold support because it is impossible to get to with that thing on there. I tried to jump the car with my girlfriends car and even if the battery was bad it still would have fired right up from being jumped.

well I only have one starter connection and that seems to be fine because I disconnected it and reconnected it and still nothing.

You should have two starter connections, a large wire/cable with an eye hoop crimped to the end, this fastens down onto the solenoid via a nut. Next to the nut, there is a slip on post, a small guage black wire, with a plastic clip connector slips on here. If this is not connected, the starter motor will not turn over.

hmmm interesting, I will have to find that other connection than. thanks again zilvia!
fixed janky starter connection from the guys who did my first wiring job. I am going to be buying an actual custom harness so I can run the correct ecu for my engine.
