yes i did search but i didnt see what i needed. what weight jack compacity should i get. a 2 1/4 ton a 2.5 ton or a 3 ton. i looked on the inside of the door on my car for the weight and it has two diffrent one. one is grvw i think and one is rr and one is rvw i think thats right. i cant find exactly how much it weights i always thought it weighted 2,200 but i think its more. its a 93 coupe. thanks for the info i think 3 ton will be fine but i will ask the people who will know it the best befor i go and spend money on one.

Your entire car weighs around 3000 lbs. Pretty much any jack will be strong enough(recomend a 2 ton). ALWAYS use stands...you'll be fine.

I picked up a low profile Craftsman from Sears. Works well for me. Jack stands are a must. Just go find something that works for you. I don't feel this is a topic that really needs discussing in depth. A jack is not going to make your car handle better, drive faster, or stop quicker. Just get one that works.

I just picked up the omega jack from amazon. It's a beast and difficult to move around in my small garage but atleast it fits under my car.

Did you get the alluminum one? If so, BE CAREFULL with it and ALWAYS USE STANDS. Myself and MANY OTHERS(from reviews) had the jack seals go bad and the jack would "lower itself".

wow that OMEGA jack is really low. nice! you make it sound like it's a beast to move around.. so it would only be a good jack to have in your garage and not to bring to events? i can imagine that thing weighing.. like 80lbs. it looks huge and if it was made of solid steel.

I got a call from Railway saying that they would drop it off or I can go pick it up. They told me that if I had it dropped off that someone would need to be home to help the driver since it weighs over 100 pounds.
I haven’t really even used it yet. My aluminum jack works fine for the rear. The omega will be utilized for the front of the car. The omega is really light in the front so when you start to jack it up, the front lifts up. After a few pumps, it really isn’t a problem. Maybe I just need to break it in more.

and those mini jacks suck. Will barely get ur tire off the ground and the seat is so small if you lift from wrong or weak spot of car it will just eat into the metal or bend whatever. Happen to me when i was using one of those mini jacks lifting from the pinch weld. You also want something with a bigger seat to seatle the weight or dispurse it evenly.

Good luck with that. We've gone through four of those pieces of shit in less than a year. The last one we had lost a wheel one day out of nowhere, and I've yet to find it.
