I originally wrote this for Tila's page but I though *maybe* there would be some bored people here....so here it is (I just copy+pasted so...... <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'> )
I'm bored as hell right now so thought I'd write something up....this
is for the truly bored...so don't read this if you have something to
do and gonna bitch at me for writing it. With that aside, this is for
those planning to go to car shows and have never been to one before,
or for those who go regularly, hell, never know, you might learn
something new.
Before I get into the carshow "tactics", I'm going to inform you of
the kinds of people that are usually found there (if you want to skip
this part just go down to the line). First off is the event
staff/security. You'll see these guys just standing around not doing
much. The most I've seen a security guard do is tell my friend to
pick up a soda can after he had stepped on it. Second, you'll find
the guys who own the cars in the show and their friends/family. They
usually have those fabric fold up chairs and sit next to their cars
not doing much. Their purpose? I dunno. Then you have my favorite
part of the show: the models. There is also somewhat of an
arrangement of these models, they usually place a less popular (ugly)
model beside a big time (fine ass) one, to make it look like the ugly
model has people coming to her booth too. Also, the ugly ones will
let you do more when taking pictures with them, so, if you're in
puberty and are looking for some action, look for the ugly models.
Usually they'll let you get some ass. (From what I've hear=P) Last
you have the fans/random people. There is one stereptype I'd like to
point out. It is the asian teenager with bleached hair spiked to
around 12 inches high and in every direction. The best thing to do
with these guys is to simply point and laugh. Please.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
**CARSHOWS 101**
The first thing about the show, of course, is getting there. If you
aren't old enough to drive and are coming with a group of friends and
your mom/dad is driving in a van, DO NOT make them drop you off near
the ticket booth. There are usually LONG lines there and upon your
arrival, everyone will stare at you with a look on their face
like "WTF?? This kid came with his mom.." That reaction is something
you DON'T want.
The show is all about timing. There is really no point in coming to
the show early (unless you want dibs on all the free stuff). Other
that the loot, all you're going to get is feet that hurt like hell.
When you first get to the show, look for free stuff. This stuff runs
out fast, so if you want some freebies, thats the time to get em.
(One thing to watch out for though, there are these guys standing
around with big stacks of flyers, DO NOT MAKE EYE CONTACT. Try to
pretend you're preoccupied with something else or you're going to end
up with a bag of shit that you have no use for.) After the free
stuff, look for the models. The chicks DO NOT stay for the whole
show, so find them early as well. Nothing worse than coming home from
a carshow and not meeting any models. Try to get a little
conversation in with the models, and if you're good friends with a
model already, talk to them, get a hug, etc. etc. and get this
thought in every guys head who saw "Who is that lucky bastard?? He
knows her??" So if you're looking for an ego boost, that's the way to
get it. Word of warning though: it is VERY hard to get in close to a
model that she recognizes you at the shows. It took me a while. Also
if this is your motive from the beginning, (just to get the ego
boost) don't expect to get anywhere with the model in question. I
always tried to just be good friends with a model, the whole "Guys
thinking you're a big shot" thing just comes naturally. Seriously.
OK, by now you must have realized that I haven't said anything about
the cars, when in fact this is a CARshow. Why? Because the cars DON'T
LEAVE. The best time to take pictures of the cars is the last 15
minutes of the show. Hardly anyone is around and you get to snap a
shot from every angle because there isn't anyone walking in your
shot. (Try taking a wide-shot of a tight Supra in the middle of the
show and you'll see what I mean) Oh, but make sure you just browse
over the cars while looking for the free stuff/models, so you know
where to go, as the security kicks in during the end and anyone
caught without a wristband is thrown out. The afterpart of the shows
can be as fun as the show itself, if you got to talk to, say, Tila
for the first time you should feel like you're walking on air for a
while, so kick back near the entrance of the Convention Center or
whatever you're at and watch the guys drive off in they're riced out cars
cars and if you're lucky you might get to see a ricer get his ass burnt (Don't
participate in these races though, unless you wanna get you're ass
busted or injured. The only racing I condone is at the strips or the
local track). Best thing to do is find a high balcony where you can
chill at with a couple of friends talking about how "dope" the
carshow was. I have many more tips to these car show, but it's 3 in
the morning so I'm kinda drawing a blank right now. Until next time,
enjoy the carshow and don't drive home by yourself. You'll get sleepy
and fall asleep at the wheel if you have noone to talk to. LAYTEZ~>
