View Full Version : My eibach prokits
Ok if you didn't know my s13 has prokits and kyb agx's
problem was my front never dropped.
I called eibach spoke with a rep for an hour he told me the spring rate was supposed to be 11.553 in the front.
i go to work take em apart and they measure 12.75
so now i have to call them back tomorrow and see whats going to go down.
I know someone posted a reply in my last topic bout someones front springs being defective.
if anyone wants to see pics they are on my site even the rep was suprised at the look.
hope it gets resolved <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

HHMMMMM u know i wonder cause all u peeps r saying that the front looks higher than the back hmmmmm im just wondering cause the springs r different lengths for the front and back ..... r u sure u didn't get them mixed up and put the ones that r suppose to go on the back on the front and the ones suppose to go on the front in the back?<img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>?

Hey, i have the exact same setup as you (S13 with Prokit and AGX shocks) and i noticed the same thing. The Prokits are supposed to drop 1.8/1.6 which is supposedly second lowest to only Eibachs sportlines, but my car barely looks lowered. It settled some since i put them in about 4 or 5 months ago but the front is still higher than i expected. The back definitely looks lower though. I just keep thinkin that once i get some 17's it'll make the car look lower.
Morgan
there is now way you can mix up the front with the rear there is a HUGE difference!
plus workin at nissan as a tech i doubt that. <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':p'>
irena i was tryna tell you bout it but you never replied to my im.
either they better fix it and drop it what its supposed to drop the car or i want my money back!
you know what morgans13 if you have the same problem i say you call eibach also

i'll tell you what the problem is, (at least i think so) first of all, as far as the s14 goes, the pro-kits are only supposed to drop about an inch, not the claimed 1.8/1.6 you said, and also, as a damper wears out, the car will gradually lower without you noticing, i know because when i put my prokits on the shocks went bad rather quickly and the car was lower than after the initial install, after i replaced the OEM dampers with some tokico's, the car rose back up to where it was supposed to be
my diagnosis: your rear dampers are shot

yea, but for the S13 its 1.8/1.6. I just looked at my car today by another stock 240sx and i realized it did actually drop about that much. I just never really compared it before since i don't see too many 240s around. Oh well, and i installed my AGXs when i put in my springs since the stock shocks definitely wouldn't be able to handle the prokits for too long.
Isn't that 1.8/1.6 for the sportline? I thought the prokit was only like 1.4/1.2 or 1.2/1.0 for the s13?

nah, heres straight from the eibach website:
NISSAN, 240SX - 1993
(Exc. Convertible)
Product Front Rear Comments Part Number
PRO-KIT 1.8 in 1.6 in 6310.140
SPORTLINE KIT 2.2 in 2.1 in 4.1063
ALIGNMENT KIT Front +/- 1.0 degrees of adjustment. 5.83450K
actually i replaced everything on my suspension when i popped the springs and struts in. the strut mounts shtrut cover dampners bump stops. everything that we pulled up in my parts dept.
and like morgan just showed it is 1.8 f 1.6 rear
i remeber someone on here showing there s14 after putting on the same setup and there car was niceeeeeeeeee just how i wanted/thought mine would look.
also my budy has a b14 ser and has the same setup his is legit lowered the front wheel gap and is lowered. Again he replaced everything with new parts as well from nissan.
so the question remains, I'll let you guys know what happens with eibach.

if u can measure the distance from the ground to the top of your wheelwell i'll do the same tommrow and tell u what i have, sorry i dont' have a digital camera.
You should measure from the center of the wheel to the top of the wheel well, thats more accurate since you might have different size tires and or rims.
dsc is right on the measurement. you need to do it from your hub/center of the wheel.
i suggest you call them also mogan. the guy said he never had anyone call in with a problem. maybe theres more people out there. who knows?

ok well i got out there today and froze my a$$ off but here are the measurements. I took them from the center/hub of the wheel like you guys told me to. These are all by hand too so i'd say give or take .2 inches and i was on a flat surface as far as i could tell.
Driv. Front: 14.8" Pass. Front: 15.0"
Driv. Rear: 14.5" Pass. Rear: 14.5"
I was surprised at how the front wasn't the same on both sides. I measured all 4 corners about 3 or 4 times to make sure i got them at least vaguely accurate. You guys think i should worry about the front being like that? Is there any way one of you guys with a factory S13 SE hb suspension could go mesaure your car so we can have a starting point? I know it won't be exactly the same for every car but i'm just curious to about how much mine dropped... Thanks

i don't think the tire pressure would matter if we're measuring from the center of the rim to the fender, would it?
yes it would cause then your car sits naturally lower i know how your picturing it. or wait now im confused and tired.......?
ill comment manana

Check to make sure the springs are not installed upside down. I have seen this happen and it definitely raises the height.
as i stated before the springs are not upside down switched from front to rear etc etc anything else.....
they are iun there perfect!
and farkin eibach needs to stop b.s'in and farckin call me or shoot me an email!
i swear, i shoulda just went with the apexi n1 coilovers!
if you dont want your springs..ill take them <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'> maybe ill have better luck with them.

Some here. I have koni schocks. The total w/ springs would be 850bucks. Close too Ws apexi.
you wont have anybetter luck with defective lowering springs that lift your front end. they are higher than stock!
im waiting for eibach to resolve this
plus i dont sell people defective ish.specially to nissan owners <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

that's actually why i went w/ intrax's last minute. cuz the guy at the shop said he had 2 much bad experience w/ them cuz customers always come back since the drop wasn't accurate. he said i could order them from him, but he wouldn't put them on n be held liable for 'em.

Any luck with Eibach? I have the same problem. The front wheel gap look stock. The back seems to have settled pretty well. Although looking at the car from the left side, it definately looks slightly lower then the drivers side.
I thought the s13s tend to have the drivers side lower?
luck? ha eibach tried saying that the spring rate doesnt have that much of an effect even though i measured them at 12.75 compared to 11.535! they say its different under load. such b.s.
andd the 1.8 is an approximate drop mine only dropped 29 mm after speaking with them again.
called tire rack since i bought it from them like eibach said to get a new pair and return these since i was told i have a lifetime wrrenty.............and tire rack says cant since its been 5 months since i bought them.
called eibach back said they would take care of it....how? i dunno they just took my info. i think everyone else should start calling in to get these dumb asses in gear so they can either fix their shit or stop makin em since they suck so bad for our cars

what units are the spring rates you gave in? It seems to me that the stock units are 112 Lbs/in So your numbers seem way off.

I am getting my sportlines tomorrow for my 90 S13, I have heard, that with those, although they say it is a 2.2"/2.1" it comes out to be more like a 2.7"/2.6" But I think that they will turn out good, later
