Its time for Freakmont again.

Click the pic above for more.

Were going to LeMans Karting this time as we out grew our previous location at Lake Elizabeth.

We'll need you all to bring the food like always. That's what makes this event the best. Plus this year we will be having various vendors on site from tuner parts and shops.

Keep checking the site for more info as it comes in. It will be constantly updated and kept up to date until the day of the event.

If you have any question, post up or email me at [email protected]

Thanks. Also let me know if you repost this on any other forums. Thanks.

The karting rate we'll get are $10- 10laps or for the Nissan Competition - $50 which equals out to quite a bit of track time and more for those that make it into the finals.

Here is detailed driving directions if you dont mind and please feel free to use this in other forums as well the directions from the internet are a bit unsafe due to this crazy turn onto brown rd right after the exit.

If you are taking 680N exit Mission Blvd west. turn right on Warm Spring Blvd. Turn right ont Brown Rd ( about 1/4 mile after turning int to Warm springs Blvd- there is a tree right b4 the turn) you'll see the signs once you've turned onto Brown Rd.

If you are taken 680S Exit Mission Blvd W(not the first mission blvd you see- the one saying 880 junction is the correct exit- right after Durham Rd) after exiting turn right on Warm Spring Blvd. Turn right onto Brown Rd ( about 1/4 mile after turning in to Warm springs Blvd- there is a tree right b4 the turn) you'll see the signs once you've turned onto Brown Rd.

If you are taking 880N exit Mission Blvd East. Turn Left on Warm Springs Blvd ( first light) . Turn right ont Brown Rd ( about 1/4 mile after turning int to Warm springs Blvd- there is a tree right b4 the turn) you'll see the signs once you've turned onto Brown Rd.

If you are taking 880S exit Mission Blvd east / Warren Rd. (take the exit right under the new bridge not b4 it it is a bit tricky because of the construction so be carefull) . Turn Left on Warm Springs Blvd ( first light) . Turn right ont Brown Rd ( about 1/4 mile after turning int to Warm springs Blvd- there is a tree right b4 the turn) you'll see the signs once you've turned onto Brown Rd.

So what happen and who was that guy?

I heard about something dude crash his car on a tree and ran over some people...

projekt_s13
04-29-2007, 01:00 PM
Ok, I'm sure most of you are wanting to know by now, "What with that 240 in the tree".

I can be correct but from the stories put together here is a brief idea of what gone down.

There were a couple of 240sx's messing around, first a Red S14 went 'stupid' and drifted around a public street corner in front of the meet location. As some people were going to confront him about doing that, a blue S14, 240sx came around the corner trying to drift but ended up not and and completely understeering and loosing control.

Meanwhile there were about 7 people sitting and chilling on the lawn near the street. As the car, out of control , jumped the curb and headed straight for the group of bystanders. 6 of the 7 was able to get of the path of the car. However one wasn't quick enough as he was scooped onto the hood of the car. Then the car slammed into a tree, flinging the young guy into the tree hitting head and then falling to the ground.

He was suffering from a concussion and probably some shock. He was conscience when leaving, but barely.

There hasn't been any word as of yet as to his condition. If anyone has any information regarding Jason the yough man that was taken to the hospital PLEASE LET ME KNOW.

If I'm correct in my research Jason is known to the forum world as "trigger94587". If it is NOT trigger, please let me know other wise. If you are someone of faith that prays, please pray for Jason. Thanks so much.

As for the driver, of which I'm not listing his name, he was arrested for reckless driving. Sidenote, Why call it reck'less' driving when there WAS a wreck? I know, I don't need an explanation just interesting.

Anyways, he was taken in and since released cause I received a message from him personally apologizing for ruining the day. He said something while I was talking to him on the lawn. "I just wanted to come and hang and relax, but I went and did something stupid, really stupid."

Yes, Rishie from AutoRnD and I helped build this car... it's a shame things went down the way they did. I hope everyone is ok. I should have stressed more about having Advan A048s in the back and crap tires in the front was a VERY BAD idea. I had mentioned it to him but didn't make a big deal out of it. Shouldn't have been driving like that in the first place IMO. This news just really ruined my day... I just got off the phone with Rishie and broke the news to him.

Don't know if any of you guys will listen, but I've got to say it, so here it is:

I have yet to speak to the driver/owner of the dark blue S14, but he is a very good friend of mine. We've known eachother over 6 years and all I can say is it's a shame that a lot of you here will judge him by this HUGE lapse in judgement he made the other day. This guy would literally give a person the shirt off his back to help them out. He does more for his family than anyone I know and has even sacrificed for our country several times, which is not something many people can say.

That S14 was his dream car. It was a "work in progress" that he waited a VERRRY long time for. He works hard for everything he owns so I feel terrible for him. My stomach was in knotts when I found out. I can only guess he got excited in the moment and made a faulty move which ended up in BIG mistake. No need to beat him up anymore than the way he must already be feeling.

To the guy who was injured, I hope you are making a full and fast recovery! My prayers go out to you brother.

Too much spending on how it looks and not enough on the track.

and also, this what happens when there's no venue to do it at.

Al, simply put and you couldn't be more right. There's no desire to showoff when you've already gotten your jollies off at the track.

dct223
04-30-2007, 03:11 AM
dream car??? you should tell your friend to have higher standards than a 240 for a dream car...

messing up your car because of bad judgment for one thing... but injuring someone else for doing something stupid is something else... if that guy he hit was fatality injured... all the nice things your friend did for his friends and family wont mean jack shit...

your friend should consider himself lucky that the major damage was just his car...

He has a brand new BMW 7 series... but he always wanted an S14 track car. Alot of you... (including me) has done stupid things in/with cars. We've mostly been lucky enough to come out the back end of our experiences with little to no damage. I am in no way saying that what he did was right, what I AM saying is that it is very close to some of the things I've seen other members on this board do when they're on the street and not trolling the internet. I am positive that better than 50% of us break traffic laws everyday... can you really say that you NEVER mess around and drive wrecklessly on the street? Only difference here was someone could have been hurt really baddly. I side with Enzo because I also know the quality of person that he is... and it was a poor decision that he choose and he is sorry for what he did.

Well... I don't expect many people here to undertstand since this is like most forums where people are quick to judge without ever putting themselves in the other person's shoes. Just coming to his defense since I know how heartless most people can be when they get behind a keyboard.

It's one thing to judge if he crashed it...

But he FUCKING HIT SOMEONE.

No matter what way you cut it, HE HIT SOMEONE WITH HIS CAR TRYING TO BE COOL.

I don't care if he's friggin Jesus, he hit someone being irresponsible.

If everyone who defended my country had is that foolish, i'd leave the states before the Communists took over.

And you're sticking up for him very well for someone who's supposed to be good friends, yet hasn't talked to him, but feels a great amount of remorse...and you just signed up. That's pretty weird.

And we all already know his screenname.

All i can say is that I hope LeMans wont pull the support they've given the whole car community in the last year. They have been more than cool enough in letting us use their place for events and shows.

If an event does happen again, I hope yall realize that Fremont/Milpitas PD will be watching that place like a hawk. You even squeek your tire while turning, theyll be all over you like white on rice.

Haha I agree with you man...The driver probably has been through a lot already. Everyone knows who he is and what he did is worse enough. And to not even count what the police will do to him or his car (no I do not have any relations with him nor do I know him. I’m just putting myself in his situation). It’s good to read how Jason (I think that’s his name) quoted the situation and what happened. I’m glad he’s ok and on the forums speaking. I was the first guy that ran over to him to check his pulse and his eyes to see if he was ok. And let me say it was one hell of a moment for me. I was expecting to run up to something that was very worse. Well you got the wind knocked the f*** out of you...haha alright ill shut up...oh and one more thing guys keep it off the streets or at least away from people =P….laters.

And Jason If your on the forums I know your looking for parts for your car. I am buddies with the guy you were talking with right before the incident (his name is Tan, sold you a lower control arm I believe). If you need anything let me know.

As I've noted earlier on my post.

Maybe the atmosphere just got to him.

From the look of the vid, he just understeered the whole way...

Yes it was understeer the whole time. He had shitty front tires and stickie rear tires which didn't help at all either.

I hope that this shows us that thinking the "it will never happen to me" mentality when messing around, especially when showing off any kind of driving ability, whether it be drifting, burnouts, hard cornering in a venue other than a controlled one, ie the track, you are gambling with your life as well as others.
If you don't care about either your life or others, personally you shouldn't be driving anything period. I've been awakened this weekend from this as well as others about the issue of 'thinking hard before acting'. EVERYONE of us has done something stupid, most likely with our cars. We always looked back and wish we didn't do it. AJ says the same. But we've all paid the prices for the mistake we've made. He will be facing a number of things legally as well as financially. The worst thing to do is continue to condemn the condemned. He know he screwed up big time.
I don't wish what he's going through on anyone but there are quite a number of people that keep saying "he deserves to lose everything", "serves him right", remember this when you make one of the biggest mistakes of your life. The last thing you want is a bunch of people saying those things to you especially people from your own community.

Jason's already expressed that he doesn't blame anyone for this.
That takes some guts to say. I'm so glad that he is out of the hospital and doing better as well as on the road to a full recovery.

I care about both Jason as well as AJ as they are both people of the Nissan Community. The same goes for anyone of you. We're a family as I see it. Thats why I try to pull together events like Freakmont and the NorCal Showoff. To bring the entire community of Nissan, Infiniti, and Datsun owners and enthusiast just a little bit closer.

My thoughts exactly! No need to kick the man when he's already down. He made just about the biggest mistake possible and I am so thankful that Jason or anyone else wasn't seriously injured. Jason does have an awesome outlook and has a huge heart to say what he did. I have not spoke to AJ yet due to the fact that I'm sure he's going through a ton of stress right now.

I completely agree with Dave that we all should put ourselves in check. Let's all please try to move on and if you guys see him in the future please try to be positve.

I said nothing against drifting. I personally don't go drifting as I'm drive an Altima. Enough said. I'm not against drifting, if it stay in the confines of where it should be, for example, drift days, track days, etc. I really hope and pray that Altamont does get the permit so that drifting can stay there.
Now I am not for doing this stuff on the public roadways. Its dangerous and not smart just like street racing.

My challenge for you would be to setup a drift event then I would help promote it. All racing events, be it drift days, track days all require tons of insurance of which most of us are unable to obtain. However putting on a car show as well or BBQ with the help of a location sponsor, help alleviate this burden. Not to mention the diligence of the people involved to prevent destructive behavior from creating issues.

There is one thing calling my events lame and doing nothing in respect to change it and actually put something together . If you don't like my meets, either tell me what you don't like or don't come and keep quiet. I like critique, not baseless comment. I'm open to ideas. If I can convert them to fruition then I will.

I only took initiative and began to put things together because no one else wanted to. All I was reading.. "Hey someone put a meet together", "We should have a meet or something" and other posts along those lines. So I with some others help began to simply 'organize' the details and made decisions with respect to dates times and locations and post them on the forums.

BayS13: You have FULL capabilities of doing the same thing. I would challenge you to begin to making contacts, find people who have the contacts and just make it happen. I know you can do. It just takes a little bit of motivation and initiative.
Let me know and if I feel its a legit setup I will use my platform to help splatter it across ALL the Nissan related forums, currently over 30 of them.

His rear tires gripped like hell but his front tires were shitty as hell. Cause if he did have grippy front tires he might not have been in that accident but then again the key word is "might not".

I don't know how many time I've said it.
"Street Drifting is the stupidest thing"
One oops can cost you alot and you don't learn jack shit from street drifting.
If Jason was between the tree and the car it would be a oops that cost not only one life, but ruin your own.
If you want to street drift go somewhere in the middle of the nite where no one can hear you scream for miles, this way a oops is only your own life.

Inexperienced people usually think that feeding the car more gas while understeering will get your rear to come out. What ends up happening though is you just understeer more.

I think the guy just had shit tires in the front and was trying to drift the turn. He came in hot and after he turned in he just understeered and then slamed on the brakes and locked up the fronts. Nothing you can do then.

For the record. The driver was not trying to drift. He expressed he doesn't know how to and wasn't attempting to. However what he was doing was attempting to do was take the corner in 2nd gear. Because of his poor judgment and tire setup and REALLY late turn-in you then see what happened.

I've made this correction in my article.

your meets blow cause you have people like the fuckface in the s14 showing up...ok so he wasnt tryin to drift...LEARN TO FUCKIN DRIVE THEN!!! your turning a fuckin corner holy shit!! super hard!!!!!

regular meets, besides lukes awesome oldschool house party/meets. only gather the people who will NEVER go to the track and are there simply to show off their primer/ super show (NOT SETUP FOR REAL DRIVING) cars.
they all bring their im the best most awesome jdm car owner on the planet attitudes. and then they try to showoff..and fail. Tap x, or any of these MEETS jus stink in general.

street drifitng is not bad if your not bad.

the worst street drifter are the one that think they are good.
I personally know 2 D1 license drifter crash while street drifting, there are just too many variables on the street that's why you can't learn much from it.
like I said before if you want to "get stupid"(quote from one d1 drifter) go somewhere no one is around, this way you can only hurt yourself.

People need to read through things before they post.

I think its safe to say that any street "drifting" is inherently dangerous, like jspec said.

Meets/bbqs are always fun, but some section of people who show up always seem to think that showing off is acceptable and cool, when in reality its probably the worst thing you can do when a large group of cars and people are gathered. Not only does it reflect poorly on the group as a whole, but is dangerous, as was demonstrated by this guy. I hope he suffers the consequences of his actions and lack of foresight.

Up here in Seattle NWN put on our big annual BBQ about a month ago where some idiots were doing doughnuts in the parking lot of a big public park after the bbq. Thankfully no one fucked up and hurt people, but it made a lot of people very angry that these idiots were tarnishing the reputation of the local nissan community.
Take it to the track or be willing to accept the consequences for your actions.

Guys, I think we gotta get this straight and establish that the s14 driver was not trying to drift. I watched video and it looks like he miss judged the corner and i guess he thought the corner was wider then it actually was. I was actually there watching this guy and im no drifter =) or anything but i think im safe to say that he was not trying to. Anyways i don't know if anyone brought it up yet....But here is a video that I can never get tired of…..http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vmAZigNkTkI

Hey, for everyone that went to freakmont this year, I'm not sure if you were aware, but Alan one of the Team Driven member put together a T-Shirt for this year's event, however it seem that sales at the event were low. If you are interested in buying one now, please email Alan at [email protected]
The cost is only $12 per shirt, plus shipping. There is only a limited number and sizes in M, L, XL and XXL.
