I know this may seem basic but i cant quite figure out whats wrong. Well today my car wouldnt start, like nothing at all, only clicks. This has happened before but it started working after i took my starter off to get tested. My starter was fine so i put it back in and while it was out, i cleaned the mount points on the starter for a cleaner ground. The car then worked fine for about 2 months until today. It was really cold this morning and my car wouldnt start.

I added another ground cable to the intake manifold in hopes of getting a better ground to the starter since my existing ground cable is shit. I then tried to start my car but still nothing. My friend said he saw the clutch fan move alittle bit and there were sparks from the starter. By the way, all the interior lights and exterior lights work, and everything else works. I doubt its a fuse because thats what i thought last time but it turns out that it wasnt. Sorry if this is pretty long but can help please help!

well have you checked the fuse? clicks in cold weather? starter is going out. What part of the starter are the sparks comming from?

i had a similar problem like this like a year ago.. i cant remember what i had to get rewired.. was your dash lighting kind of dark?... was your lighting really low last couple weeks? when this happend, my lighting seemed to be kind of low, but once i got the wiring fixed, my lighting was much brighter then it was previously. ill try to find my recipt for my wiring and find out what it was exactly. The exact happen, just clicking when i would try to turn on the car but alll my lights worked, even my stereo, but ill get back with you.. latah

Seems like your starter solenoid is dying. Clicking sound and no cranking sound like it. Also turn your front crank pulley a little in any direction. Sometimes starter gear don't engage flywheel gear well. Good luck!

remove the positive and negative terminals connectors and see if there's any acid buildup on the wires, you can't see it unless you take it off.

if there is, clean it off and start her up.

this is what happened to me.

hope this helps any.

this happened to a friends sohc and it was a bad ground from the battery, also turn off the lights, if you have a garage, if not then try starting it at night, and having a friend see if there is any spark coming from the spark plug wires.

ok ill try some of that stuff in a bit. I attached a ground cable from another bolt on the intake manifold to the battery but i dont know if its really a good ground
