the hot pipe is the very first piece of intercooler piping.  most intercooler kits do not include this piece, because they assume you will use the stock pipe.  heavythrottle makes their own hot pipes to sell with intercooler kits because most people dont have the stock side mount intercooler piping.

i.e., pipe air goes though when it is hot, after it has left the turbo but before it has reached the i/c.
