So i purchaced a gizzmo phenolic intake gasket for s13 sr20det. reminded me of the hondata spacers for honda's. wondering any one has used one.

Gizzmo state this about there product: The Gizzmo thermal gasket acts as a barrier, stopping heat transfer from the engine block to the intake manifold. Stopping this heat transfer results in a cooler intake temperature charge. A cooler intake air temperature increases engine power much the same way an intercooler does, however the thermal intake manifold gaskets can benefit both turbo and non-turbo vehicles.
The Gizzmo thermal gasket is made of hard, dense material by applying heat and pressure to layers of paper and glass cloth impregnated with synthetic resin. These layers are laminations of cellulose paper, cotton fabrics, synthetic yarn, glass fabrics, and unwoven fabrics.
When heat and pressure are applied to the layers, a chemical reaction (polymerization) transforms the layers into a high-pressure thermosetting industrial laminated plastic.

There's conflicting info on if they really work that well...there should be a slight improvement, but keep in mind that thermal transfer will still occur through the bolts themselves holding the intake down, albeit at a much lower rate. Where did you get it from? Is it the type that goes between the head & intake or between the upper & lower intake?

goes between intake and head.. i actually sell this product but was unsure of its potential.. figure i would ask the community for any info they may have. before i do my own testing.

S2000 owners swear by them.

I'd get one if they could make it for S14/S15 SR.

I have one. I haven't noticed a difference in the feeling of my intake manifold. Still feels hot. I bet if I had a vented hood that would draw radiator heat out of the engine bay, it would work much better.

that gasket is available for s14 sr20det and s15 sr20det.. hell i have one of each in stock.

i have been told 3% to 10% intake temp decrease. but thats what they say

I run one on my redtop, and I can attest to the intake manifold being able to be touched with no problems after a full 30 minute HPDE session...I was totally amazed (and I have a greddy IM)

Did it improve anything? Can't say....but I know on my buddies turbo Sentra the intake was MUCH hotter after the same session...

No real scientific numbers or temps, just FWIW....

its not rocket science guys....

RUn car x amount of time... Take a simple temp guage used to measure brake/engine temps...measure.

Let car cool ALL the way. Install, re-measure temp.

we can all say the intake temp decreases or you can touch the manifold with ease after a run...but what about on a dyno. dose the cars intake temp change enough that you can apply more fuel. for more bang...

anyone seen there numbers change on the dyno after this mod
