"buy real wheels lol!" guys need not apply.

the car: '92 hatchback, sunset orange metallic/black roof. soon to have silvia front end. no body kit. well, maybe OEM skirts and a kouki rear valance. but i'm not going to go out of my way to get them. suspension is AGX's/Sportlines, and no, i don't plan to go lower. i drive this car every day, i don't need to be scraping on everything. i might get Tein Flex's down the road.

the wheels: Sportmax 501's. 16x8, +15.

the photoshop: gunmetal and silver wheels. which do you prefer, and what do you think would look good with the orange?

Have you decided on those rims? if so, I think the gunmetal ones look good. I may be wrong but I am assuming that this car is drifted? if this is also true when the e- brake is pulled the stopped spokes of the wheel will not stand out as much, making e brake initiating drifts look smoother. If one is pulling the e-brake to start a drift or correct a drift it is good to be sutble with the e-brake. In the end what really matters is what you like. You are the one that is going to be driving the car. When you asked what would look good with the orange, were you talking about outside or in side (engine bay/ interior)? Usually blue complements the orange pretty well.

ok...
a.) i haven't 100% decided on these, but i'm leaning towards them.
b.) i do not drift. see attached photo.
c.) i meant which wheels went with the orange paint >.<

You failed photoshop, those look like 14s not 16s so it's hard to give an opinion.
do you see my 15's poking out beyond these wheels? i don't. these are bigger than the 15's, so i'd call them 16's, if not 17's. the s13 just has big wheel wells, and it's not slammed...

ROFL @ some of the responses!

But in all seriousness I think you would be better of spending your money on some good quality used mesh wheels. something like a black mesh with a polished lip that will go with the orange.

Either way good luck with the decision.

You guys already busted this reply, but I had to add my 2 cents.

Why in hell does wheel color matter when the ebrake is pulled? "Dude, don't get those gunmetal wheels, you won't look cool if you try to initiate a drift." That's the stupidest fucking comment yet.

And blue and orange? Is this a car or a football mascot?

heh, as nice as that looks, i've got to drive this thing for hours every day. i'd prefer the softest ride i can have..

and after staring at these wheels for so long, i'm pretty sure i'm not going to bother. between the fake bolts and the universal lug pattern, it's just way too busy. and there's a guy selling new old stock mesh on here for pretty cheap, so i think i'll go that way.

I see your statement here. You dislike the so called hype of drifting. yet you intend to purchase wheels from a company who capitalizes on this "hype". In actuallity, its the people like you who you dislike. do your self a favor and kill yourself.

silver looks better. and yes, they do look like 16s to me. you people are forgetting that most people on this forum who run 16s use tires with a lower overall diameter than stock, that is why his photoshop looks smaller than 16.

Also, to tht OP, daily driving on coilovers isn't too bad, I drive 60 miles a day on midwest roads on silkroads. your car will look a lot better if it were a couple inches lower.

BustedS13
03-15-2007, 04:23 PM
it's a factory color.... from GM :D when i had it painted back in '03, they didn't have the info for Nissan's '03 Z orange just yet... so i went with GM's Sunset Orange Metallic, which is pretty much the same shade. as seen on the Grand Prix, Cavalier, Vibe, etc etc.. pretty sure they still use it, i've seen a few GTO's in this color as well. this pic doesn't come near doing it justice. when it's sunny, it's a very bright color.
