View Full Version : How loud is the Apexi N1 Catback Exhaust

I have a 97 240sx and i am planning on buying the Apexi N1.  I was just wondering if it will be really loud because i just went to overboost.com and found an install on a older 240 and they said that it was quiet is this true? By the way, does the N1 add more hp and torque then any other exhaust and which exhaust do you guys perfer? thank you

this is a loud exhaust.  make no mistake.  and it's really loud without a turbo.  with a turbo and an SR, it makes the best sounds i've ever heard a 4-cylinder make.  seriously.  the 5Zigen doesn't even begin to compare.  personally, i'd recommend the dual system, as you get more ground clearance, and the tips are smaller.  and more midrange torque.  the gains by installing an exhaust are real, but it's not like you're going to be laying the smack down on ITR's or Z28s now or something.

I have the n1 dual on my sohc and it really isnt too loud to me at all. Try doing a search for N1 and Wav or Sound. There have been lots of Audio samples posted before. I might find them later and add them a section of the site.

I've got the N1 Dual with the silencers in mine, a 96 KA. Don't get me wrong, it's an absolutely beautiful deep sound, and at higher RPMs it sounds Really badass and strong, but I must have really sensitive ears. It's definitely quite loud, even with the silencers. If you're looking for one, mine's for sale as soon as Jspec gets my Border3 here.
