So I have a new B&M shifter sitting in my living room (putting it in this weekend). And it comes with a nice aluminum knob, but that's going to be HOT in summer and COLD in winter. I have a nice MOMO Sphere knob, but I'm thinking of trying something new. Specifically, something that screws on to the B&M shifter and maybe even has a little taste of JDM. So, here's what I've come up with so far:

Nismo

See? My list is really short. Also, where should I look to find the best prices? Jspec is high on something. Taka Kaira too. Any other ideas? Thanks, yo.

Eric

EDIT: Taka Kaira isn't that bad in terms of price. But I'm still looking for ideas.

I've heard the thread pitch on the B&M is diffrerent than the OEM knob.. if it is, then your gonna be hard pressed to find a screw on knob that will work with their shifter thats not B&M. They do have some cool knobs by the way.

If it has the same thread pitch I would go with one of the Nismo knobs.. I have one. I like it a lot.. I know a lot of people that are happy with their MOMO knobs too. If the thread pitch isn't OEM, I would look into either MOMO, or SPARCO.

-edit- The Greddy shift knob is pretty schweet too..

go to the dealer, nismo stuff is actually cheaper there. jspec stopped selling em because it not something they can make a profit on...

actually the b&m is the same thread pitch. i know this because we just installed a short shifter on my friends nx2k and i took that nice shiny shift knob. (and trust me you dont want to use it! i forgot about it being hot in the sun man did i get a nice suprise when i went in my car!

so you see the b&m shifter fit on my oem shifter so vice versa is the same

I have the white nismo bell shaped knob that is hell cool and I love it.
Im not much for show but everyone that sees it is like "That is the coolest knob I have ever seen"... Which I dont get cause its just white and says nismo. Feels good and light in the hand though.
I thought all MOMO where slide on with the 3 screws? My roomy had one and it keep coming off. ggrrrrr that thing pissed me off.
I had a greddy knob on my honda and might just say that is the uglest but best feel in the hand knob ever.

My MOMO knob on my Z has 3 set screws. I hate that damn thing. If I shift hard I pull the damn thing off most of the time. I would try to stay with something that screws on the shifter insted of one with set screws.

I have the first knob on it's way... the Nismo GT knob. Should be nice. I plan on using it in my '96 SE-R until I find the right S13 to buy.

Thanks for all the input. I'm leaning towards a Nismo knob (although nothing at the moment since I'm broke right now from moving). Oh, by the way, I've had good luck with the MOMO. Doesn't move. I guess I'm just not a pussy when it comes to tightening on the set screws... hhehehe

Oh, and it's not gonna be for sale for a while...if at all. Sorry.

Just FYI - I have the Nismo GT knob:
http://www.nismo.co.jp/shopping/accessory/31.jpg

It's pretty sweet. It's made of some sort of soft rubber.. The only part that gets hot is the set screw on top. The knob is smaller than I thought it would be too. Also, the black paint on the set screw is starting to rub off. My shifter now makes a loud rattling type sound past 4500rpm in 1st and 2nd b/c the knob is so much lighter than stock. It is shorter than the stock knob, so the boot sits about 2 inches from the bottom and exposes the shifter shaft.

All in all I really like the way it looks. I'm not sure I did at first but it grows on me more everyday. Feels really nice in the hand too.

skik - you can fix that problem with the shift boot. Stick some rubber bands or washers under the boot and over the shaft to make the boot come to the bottom of the knob.

guidot - I actually like the way it looks. I thought about fixing it. but it started growing on me. My friends think it looks better this one anyways.

And a bit of Shameless self promotion.. MY CAR..

What kind of material is your shifter, it looks liek a good one, and I'd like to get the black one, but does it have good grip?
I want something liek a ball similar to the momo one, everyone tells me it is a really good shifter, but everyone has it so, the nismo one seems like an even better choice, and its more original.

HHAHAHAHA sykikchimp we have the nismo sticker in the exact same spot... to funny... actually our cars are a lot a like... S13.. black.. YOU STEAL MY RIDE? j/k
Hey how did you get your rims so clean.... please tell.

My knob is like plastic/resin maybe.... really light but strong. Its really smooth and seems to fit in your hand perfectly. I recommend this knob...OOOO dont be scared of the white... sucker has yet to get dirty, which I cannot figure out cause im always working on the car then driving with dirty hands and closes.
