I have TEIN HE coilovers and I'm having a hard time lowering/raising ride height. I don't have the manual because i bought the car with suspension already. I looked online for the manual and let me say it skips ALOT. I searched for another brand of coilover, JIC just wondering if its similar. I colored the parts of the coilover, and when i twist the blue or red, the whole coilover spins and it doesn't look like its going up or down.

Which way for blue or red to raise/lower?

tighten the green one all the way down then the whole coilover wont move anymore

Tighten the red/blue against each other, then when you wrench on them, it rotates the whole shock. Keep turning, and it will raise or lower the shock in the lower mount, raising or lowering the car.

yup, tighten red and blue real good. loosen the green up on the bottom and turn the whole assembly. if you max out by doing that you can also play with preload in adjusting the height.

Tighten the red/blue against each other, then when you wrench on them, it rotates the whole shock. Keep turning, and it will raise or lower the shock in the lower mount, raising or lowering the car.

or you could be smart and undo the two lower bolts up front and rotate the lower mount moving it higher up the shock body....therefore lowering the car...hmm...wouldn't want you to blow a seal on you're coils....do the same for the rear...undo the 17...adjust...reinstall....make sure you turn the lower body the right direction...get the spacer/bushing on the correct side...make sure you're satisfied with the height...and get another alignment...good luck and post some pics when you're done...

another newb problem =\

I was adjusting ride height today because i noticed driver side was lower than passenger side so i decided to lower the passenger side. The driver side had about 1.5 inch of thread left in the middle of the coilover, and passenger had about 2 inches. So I rotated the body until it was about 1.5 inch of thread left and passenger side was still higher. Then I rotated until there was only an 1 inch left, it was lower but still wasnt even... whats the problem =( Heres an illustration.

To lower your car, you need to loosen the collar you have highlighted green. (Screw it counter-clockwise left to right) After you do that, you can grab hold of the whole shock body. And twist it clockwise (Right to left). Don't expect to lower your car unless the side you are lowering is jacked up. It's best for both front or rear wheels to be off the ground that way when you try to raise/lower your car the swaybar isn't working against you.

After you find the ride height you desire, screw the green collar back down and you're good.

Eh... Just read your new problem. Check your preload (How tight top spring is) If all else fails, take a ruler and measure your coilovers from left/right and try to even everything out.
