well, summer is coming up and it is already getting hot here in cali, ive had this problem late last year but luckily winter saved my ass, so i didnt bother to fix it...well here's the problem:

when my car is (92 240, ka) on idle or stopped, my ac turns on for a few seconds and turns off for a couple of seconds (green light on ac button turns on and off) but when my car is moving (even constant 10mph roll) the ac just stays on.

i dont know where to start diagnosing for this problem, i tried searching a couple months back on different forums and even here but i could not find any answer...

pls help me before the temperature rises to 100!!!! thanx

Bad FICD valve or pressure switch. Unplug both and continue driving, see if it still acts up.

FSM tells you everything, invest in downloading one and you won't have to ask a lot of these questions.

The FICD valve is a plunger style unit located on the IACV, purple connector for S14s, light blue for S13s, it controls idle up when the compressor is engaged. The pressure switch sits on top of the drier. 2pin lead for S13s, direct 4pin plug for S14s.

If you have a 92 or newer S13 your FICD will be the same as the S14 purple connector are for that matter the entire IACV assembly is the same as the one on the S14 FYI, its revised and better than the previous IACV assembles.
