I am of the opinion that the sweatshops will continue as long as they continue to "work" the companies that use them. As long as such a thing is legal, unfortunately not much can or likely will be done about them, profitability on all ends is what keeps them moving.
Yes, this is a sad revelation and a wholly ugly picture of humanity, but the fact remains in spite of this.

apparently it doesnt change anything about how i feel, the only way it would affect me emotionally. is if when i put the clothes on. does it boost or obstruct my present emotion. aka make me feel good when i step outside my front door.

fuck no, everything we've owned in this country was built of the backs from some sort of slave labor.

when i was living in long beach as a kid, my parents worked at a sweatshop. and so did i. seriously they were sewing and cutting garments for 15 cents a piece, and i had to cut the extra thread from the sewing machines when they were done. i got 5 cents a garment for it. i looked at it this way you gotta do what u gotta do to survive in a city where jobs arent there, where the language barrier is one of the main things my parents couldnt find a job that paid well. if you immigrated to a new country and had to do, put to food on the table and a roof over your head. why wouldnt you take the first occupation you could get.

heres another way of looking at it if u didnt buy those clothes there would be even more homeless and starving people out in the world..

the only real problem i have about companies and sweat shops is the mark up on retail prices... they somehow work a deal to get their products made for cheap, and still sell them way above the cost to make it. if they really sold their products for what they cost i bet alot of those designer clothers would be under 20 bucks...

I honestly didn't expect so many responses.

I've received enough submissions of surveys now. It's gonna be kinda weird that all my surveys are males 18-20 something on average. So I'm closing the thread.
