alright well all of you guys know the muffler on the DD hangs LOW and it usually becomes the lowest pt of the car.
what did you guys do about this?
i'm currently on stock rims and WINTER tires 205/55/16 and the muffler is already 3inches from the ground.
i can fit around 2 fingers inbetween my wheel gap and i will be running on 215/40/17 front, 225/45/17 rear all on a 9.5J rim.
so, i can estimate that with my 17s on, the height would remain approximately the same, but still with 2 fingers room of gap.
i want to lower it more and have a conservative tuck in the rear.
that would almost result my muffler from scrapping the ground all around town.
what did you guys do to solve this? and i don't want to hear responses like get a next exhaust cause i won't.
any POSITIVE input would be greatly appreciated. and yes, its as high as it can go. it just barely tucks under the chassis which has a small curvature.
edit: seems that s13 owners say it has best ground clearence but i think that my be different for the s14
heres a pic of NITEKIDS s14 with the trust dd. you can see that the muffler does hang very low.
btw, i have a stock s14 KA with stock dp.

You could do it your self or take it to an exhuast shop and have them cut, shorten and re-weld the hangers.

there isnt much you CAN do besides what youngmanvr4 suggested. Some nismo or polyurothane exhaust hangers might help a little bit too since they are stiffer and will hold the exhaust up more, but probably not as much as youd like. re-do hangers is the best option

Agreed, redoing the hangers is the best option, but even then would the exhasut still fit right? EDIT: Looks like it has some room for adjustment.

whoa rust central. you should get that all cleaned up.
anyways you could always cut out the muffler and just make like a Y pipe for it. Of course it will be louder but im sure you have silencers.

Use hose clamps around the rubber exhaust hanger/bushings to bring it up a little

put a strap around the exhaust and push it up till it hits the subframe

That's the best way. Judging by the way yours is hanging, that will help you alot.
My DD's don't touch the ground and I'm tucking rim when I run 17's.
But you're also not on coilovers so your suspension isn't as stiff as mine. So bumps will make your car slap the ground more often.
Sum it up, stiffer suspension and radiator clamps if you want to lower your car more.

I used bungee cords on the hangers and wrapped it around and around until it was so tight that the exhaust was pushed up and not moving.

i must say that is a very very sexy exhaust. never seen one with so little bends.. my n1 dual is about 3/4 inch off the ground... so like everyone suggested, i shortened the hangers, and bought stiffer bushings. how does that exhaust sound by the way?

heres some more pics just to give you guys an idea. its just under 2" of clearence.
hey Zar, i remember we spoke about something like this before. thanks again.
when i took a closer look of exactly where the muffler was, just above it is some sort of heat shield it seems and it doesn't seem like i can push it up any higher. not exactly sure wats right above the muffler, i will get it on a hoist to try the hose clamps like you guys suggested.

Just by looking at how much your exhaust moves shows that the radiator clams will help.
And it wouldn't kill to get solid motor mounts.
I hope your car was warmed up before you were reving it. o_O;

^^ not really, drove it about 1hr ago but watever, i don't really baby the motor esp when i'm planning to swap it out. I'll just make use of it till it goes or till i do the swap, whichever comes first.
