I'm thinking about getting this FMIC (http://www.intensepower.com/injfrmoinkit.html) Does anyone know if its any good? Its either that or a Greddy M-Spec. The one in the link has a higher HP rating than a M-Spec...but if its not all that good then an M-Spec might be better.

Intense is local from me and are real great people, and knowledgeable. I still would go with HDI over that one though. Most of there parts are just "megan style/type" quality to have their name on it. I would have thought they personally would have made hand quality parts to better represent themselves. I am happy with my hybrid one.

I looked at ebay and found a Godspeed kit for $289...look the exactly the same as the HDI one. So from what I'm seeing I'll probably get is one of these 3.
-Ebay Godspeed kit
-HDI kit (http://hiprollc.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=S14SRKIT&Category_Code=KITS)
-Greddy M-Spec
It looks like the Godspeed and HDI you dont need to buy an additional hot pipe but with the Greddy you do.

SSAC sucks, but their intercoolers are uber bang for the buck. I had one on my DSM for a year, running 22psi with a 56 trim for 4 months... Finally upgraded to a DejonTool unit after deciding I wanted to go 10s. I didnt even have to then, but I wanted to just for added insurance, for fear of welds blowing under heavy load. I bought a SSAC unit for my SR20 about 2 months ago for 195 shipped. Easy install, everything bolted right up. No problems yet.

I have installed and used the ebay fmic kit. It works suprisingly well. I forget the name of the company, but I think they do it for about $200 shipped. But the kit is obviously ment for the ca18 after installing 1 kit on an sr, and another on a ca. The sr will fit, just a little wrestling.
Oh, but most important is that the piping is aluminum, not aluminized, it is also some insane chinease aluminum, so if you are going to weld to it (suggested), make sure you know a good tig aluminum welder.
Oh, yeah get the ARC sidemount and hardpipes, fmic is a waste w/a turbo that small.

Man, mine came with 2 coldpipes, different bends for a higher mounted TB... pretty noice.

I know you have mentioned the Mspec from Greddy. I got the Vspec from them, and can vouch for the quality. I have had no problems. At the time Vspec was all there was, so I got it. Truth be told for the numbers I am wanting if the Mspec would've been out I would've gotten that. I would say the difference between the M, V, and R is actually in how much air they flow, so the quality should still be there... can anyone back me up on this or tell me that I'm wrong?

I keep on going back to the Mspec. I mean its either going to be Godspeed (ebay), HDI or Mspec. But I keep going back to the Mspec. The one thing I could do if later down the road if I get the Mspac and I think I need a better flowing intercooler I could just be a good one for $200-400 bucks since I'll already have all the piping. Right now I want 280-300ish. The Mspec has unofficially been rated at 400hp.

from what i've heard, the m-spec looks like an ebay intercooler with greddy piping. i had the v-spec and loved it, it was great quality. But, recently a moron hit me so i'll probably be going with something cheaper for now.

What are the dimensions on a greddy spec M?

Well I ended up going to a HDI kit.
$425 shipped.
Had to work with the fitment a little but nothing hard.
Just had to turn the top brackets upside down and swap sides and then bend the bottom brackets a little.
I would definitely buy it again.

I was recently in the market for a new FMIC, already had piping so I just needed a FMIC. I looked into the ebay cores, HDi, etc etc, all cheap price and cheap quality. They are all mass produced Chinese cores that are of very poor quality cooling wise. They look bling all polished up, but for anything other than mild street use they are useless.
This is a good read, its Buschur Racing testing an ebay core vs their race core. Very interesting results. The Ebay core failed miserably at cooling the air. http://www.lancerforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=260479
Personally I would recommend buying a setup from a well known name. I bought a Precision Turbo FMIC that uses a Garrett core http://www.precisionturbo.net/intercoolers-display.php?company_id=101795&category_id=3013 you can find them cheaper than this and used the existing piping from an HKS kit.
