Does anyone know how to convert MPEG and video clip files to windows media video files?

My 360 wont stream any video from my computer thats not a WMV file.

go to download.com and DL a file converter i use one to convert to mp3....i forgot the name of the software though.

Windows Media encoder is free @ Microsoft's site. Many small apps that would do it as well.

Windows Media encoder is free @ Microsoft's site. Many small apps that would do it as well.

I like that program as well, and that way you won't get any viruses from downloading 3rd party software.

If straight conversion into WMV is needed, then yeah the Windows encoder is cool. Personally I would get my hands on either Canopus Procoder or Sorenson Squeeze - best encoding apps available hands down.

Is there any way to speed it up? It takes hours to convert a 45 minute video. Or is it just my computer that cant handle it?
