If i put a roll bar in y 240 fastback and put harness seatbelt on driver side and passenger side, could the back seats still be used for passengers. Will it be enough room. I was thinking about gettin the Y belt and and bolt them into the middle of the rear seats, between the two passengers in the back. If so please tell me thanz

Yeah - I don't know how the back is shaped, but a bar will likely kill any hope of forcing people back there. The uprights usually take too much space.

Also, having a passanger back w/ a bar is a bad thing - panic stops can lead to serious head injuries for them.

Of course, who the heck would want to ride back there anyway?

It all depends on how it's shaped and where it fits. In a 240 hatchback, if it's just behind the driver's head, it wouldn't encroach on the rear seat passenger's head room on the passenger side much, since you are almost directly under the top edge of glass for the hatch. What would make it uncomfortable is the loss of lateral space.

The seat behind the driver would be much worse since the diagonal rear support is on that side. Either way, unpadded, it does pose a greater threat to their safety. I've rarely had two passengers in the back of my car (twice I think, once to the movies and then the trip back). I can do without it when the time comes.
