will pulling it out throw a cel code? just want to know on a mod to wire a microswitch to disable it at WOT so can last the tranny longer.

The dropping resistor maintains line pressure within the transmission, all it really does is keep the shift between gears smoother. At WOT would be the worst time to have it disconnected. Keep it plugged in and leave it alone, you're not gaining any power by bypassing it.

it is an engine compartment, not an engine bay.

R240NA: if you don't mind pls have a look at the article below. it says just the exact opposite . I'm confused about this , i'm n ot wanting more power just want dont want to damage the tranny more

I don't buy it. For years people just unplugged the resistor because some fool said it increased power, and years later people were still looking for used transmissions because they had blown their's to fuck and back. While only cutting the circuit is WOT is less wear than all the time, it's still increased strain on an already fragile part. It's not like tearing up a PS pump and forcing you to drive with heavy arms in the meantime, a transmission failure is pretty serious downtime for no benefit.

I used to run at the dragstrip with mine plugged in...and then I'd unplug it for a few runs.

It was NEVER faster with it unplugged.

thanks guys just want to get more opinions from members here.

and i wasnt looking to be faster or what just want to ensure longetivity of the tranny cause i autocross it with it plugged in
